I'm going to say that this fella would have a point that World War III could break out, but only if the USA still had some teeth to bite with. We have none. And with Obama continually calling for military cuts, we aren't in a position to go after Russia over anything at all. So I'm thinking this doom porn prediction of WWIII won't happen. The part about Russia taking over the Ukraine could ... but it won't blow up into WWIII. If Obama was smart he would have moved up the NATO exercises scheduled for the spring and summer. But he hasn't. So either he's really not too smart OR he doesn't care if Russia takes over the Ukraine.

Russia has test-fired its ICBM arsenal as a display of military muscle and this event prompted Ukraine officials to appear on CNN and they appealed for help from the United States. Yes, the interviews seemed contrived, but war is war regardless of whether it is being artificially staged by the bankers.

In another concerning and recent provocation, the Russian Black Sea fleet commander reportedly issued an ultimatum for open warfare with Ukraine if Ukraine and its military did not capitulate to Russian demands. Although Moscow has officially denied the allegations, there are scores of reports from journalists on the ground claiming the complete opposite. What about that spy ship parked off the coast of Cuba? I suspect that if hostilities does break out, this ship will launch two nuclear missiles which will detonate in the mid-continental United States and an EMP attack will destroy America’s power grid. Additionally, these same Ukrainian new services have accused the Russians of attacking several of Ukraine’s government building including police stations. And of course, there are still a reported 160,000 Russian soldiers practicing war games on Ukraine’s border in several different locations. Ukraine continues sending troops to its Eastern and Northern Borders. Troops have been digging in along the border with Russia. As Ukrainian soldiers continue to increase their presence, amid fears the Russian military is staging training exercises close to the border in the Donbass region, one can safely bet that the first Russian military incursion will occur in this region.

Previously, General Philip Breedlove, the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, has emphatically stated that Russia is using snap military exercises in preparation of a military invasion of Ukraine. Breedlove describes the term snap military exercise in a recent account. “A snap exercise puts an incredible force at a border. The force that is at the Ukrainian border now to the east is very, very sizeable and very, very ready.”Breedlove notes that in addition to the Donbass region, Russia has its military “postured on the eastern border of Ukraine of the Trans-Dniester region if the decision was made to do that, and that is very worrisome. Trans-Dniester is a region on the border of Ukraine and neighboring Moldova. Breedlove further states that it is impossible to defend against the coming Russian invasion without pre-positioning assets in the area, “especially in the Baltics and other places“. If this does not imply the General isn’t expecting an invasion of Eastern Europe, I do not know what would. Several Eastern European countries have requested protection from Putin.

NATO is going 'boots on the ground in Moldavia. Also Operation Rapid Trident (2014) is multinational and scheduled for July and headquartered in Lviv, Ukraine. These are counter forces to the Russian ones.

The author speculates that, in the next week or so Russian commandos will begin by taking down the power grid of airports and surrounding towns and villages. Then Russian paratroopers will deploy to Ukraine’s airports and seize the runways under the cover of darkness. Putin has a five week window to gain military control over Ukraine before NATO has their war games in place.

MY PREDICTION - World War III won't happen by Memorial Day 2014. I believe this doom porn will fail.

Obama may have plenty of reasons to let the Russians run wild.
The US didn't have a hand in the beginning of World War One or Two.

The Europeans could get it all started by themselves. Then we would get dragged into it.

I doubt it is coming soon though.

Obama doesn't run NATO. And you must have missed the recent statement he made about Russia not being able to threaten the USA as they just don't have the firepower that we do.Why do some people think that aggression is the only solution? Obama, Putin and many other world leaders are controlled by those in the shadows.You ever heard of that saying "True power is behind a throne"? Everything that is happening in this modern world is controlled and well planned by a group of people.

To be honest, you are giving Obama a little too much credit. As if he can make that big of decision's on his own. The US presidents had lost that kind of power long ago, while in Russia, the man who had controlled everything that was going on in his country long before he was the president, has that power. That's the difference. Not who has a bigger balls.

No, I saw that. Obama said it at the same time he was saying that we need to downscale our military. You must have missed the part where I said that I don't think this doom porn is going to happen.

USA is by far the unchallenged biggest military spender in the world. Obama could cut the arms budgets by over 80% and USA would still be the biggest spender military wise.

If Russia does get more frisky, I totally predict Obama will react by issuing the "Double secret, super, extra, Americano, macchiato, triple Vente - and this time he REALLY means it! - condemnation"

The US/NATO is not going to war over Ukraine. They will happily wreck the Russian economy and watch Russia fall apart though. NATO is more than capable of dealing with Russia as a military option if they so chose. However they have far more effective politacl and economic weapons they can use instead. Also a war with Russia would not be a word war. They have no friends or allies in the world that would into a losing war to help them. And few friends they have left are a small collection of failing states.

Some of Europe would take a short term hit but, they can also afford it a geat deal more. Long term they would be fine and some of them would even profit off it. As would the US replacing that Russian gas in the short term while Europe develops its own. Long term that is a disaster for Russia. Russia's economy is already faultering and if this continues it will move into a recession by the end of the year. And that is best case, if the West does not launch any real santions. 70 billion in capital has already been lost. This does not even count the occupation costs of Crimea. Also bad for Russia is that Europe will begin increasing defense spending at a time Russia can least afford it. Not to mention China who would is playing nuetral but, would be more than happy to gobbel up any Russian markets shut off by santions. All this is very bad for Russias long term prospects. I would expect Russia to looking to make a deal as soon as it can that saves face. I would expect Crimea will not remain a part of Russia and Ukraine will agree to be a nuetral state and not join NATO.
