Satellite image reveals mysterious shape lurking in the Scottish Highlands.
This would be really cool if true. OK ATSER'S Lets have at it!

Looking for the Loch Ness Monster? There’s an app for that.
Amazing images of a creature swimming below the surface of the world famous loch have been accessed from a satellite high in the atmosphere, using Apple's satellite map app.
The photographs were captured by two different amateur Nessie hunters scanning different satellites transmitting images of the earth from space.

Never seen a boat create a wake like that.....must be a REALLY big boat with a REALLT wide, rounded front end. That pic looks like whatever it is may be underwater since there are no breaks on the wake visible, creating more of a "ripple" style wave more than a boat wake which should have white caps. That and there are multiple angles in the "wake" of whatever created this.

I would actually go for CGI over a boat wake.

I am actually going to double down on my answer and add...

It is a cloaked boat.

or a partly submerged submarine. could have just dove under and still causing a wake.

I really, really want that to be Nessie. But look at the moored boats over to the right. That thing underwater is enormous compared to them.
There's no way that could be one creature ... but it does look like one. Aaargh!

I don't see a boat, but I also don't see a monster.

Let's call it a boanster for now.

Star and flag just because it's Nessie!

I would so love them to find 'Nessie', but methinks it will never occur! I'm a Nessie fan at heart. She just wants to be loved, not stalked.

Whatever it is it's the size of a couple of football pitches, Nessie has never been reported to be that big.

what if thats all it is? the loch ness monsters turns out to be just a very very large and old algae eater.... how silly both sides would feel, the skeptics for denying its existence to find it truly does exist, and the believers for finding it isnt a majestic and ancient beast, but rather a very old oversized yet modern creature

This is pretty old. Surprised it is coming back around. Look around the lake some more and you will see other boats with wakes just as large. When this first came out, only a "few devices" could see the image. My guess is it (the boat) was photshopped out.

From the OP source

'When Andy got in touch at the beginning of the year, we finally managed to locate a device that had the image on it and asked some boating experts to look at it

Anyway, when it first came out, I spent about an hour cruising the lake and found several boat/wakes that were essentially identical. As pointed out earlier, if it was Nessie, it would be manyfold bigger than nessie ever has been reported to be.

Quite.

I have to agree is it most likely a boat Photoshopped out. You can quite clearly see the outline of the wouldbe boat in the zoomed in picture. A god-damned big boat, but a boat nevertheless.

That being said, the wake doesn't seem to match a boat of that side. I'm no boat expert, but you can clearly see where the bow would be in the boat silhouette, and I've never seen a wake push out in front of a boat like that. Shouldn't it start under the bow?

I suppose if the bow were more vertical and less rounded it might create that sort of effect, but I can't imagine a boat of that size (85'-100'?) moving that fast without an elevated bow.

Conclusion: Photoshopped out boat, touched up front wake.
