After 9 long months deployed to Afghanistan I am finally home on US soil and boy does it feel good. It was an experience I will never forget but hope to never have to do again.

The plus side is that I was able to keep up with current events and keep up with ATS throughout much of my deployment. It's been a busy 9 months. Have some good times and a few very bad times. But at least I was still able to keep in touch with my family and my ATS family as well.

Thanks to all of you I was able to keep some sanity in an otherwise crazy situation.

Glad to be home.

Welcome back. I don't think I would want to leave this area for very long let alone go half way around the world.

You have made some seriously good contributions in the forums in that nine months too, not to mention previous posts before that.

I have a new appreciation for the men and women at the coal-face of US foreign policy implementation.

Good stuff mate, you deserve recognition and I hope to have a well earned rest with the family and friends.

Cheers.

Glad you made it home. I wish there was a way to bottle your integrity, duplicate it, and distribute it to many of today's youth. I am proud to know you. Be safe, and enjoy your break.

Thanks all.

Its a real blessing being back on American soil.

Its kinda weird too. Driving, using cash, sleeping in my own bed, eating real food...

So many things you take for granted..

Also the not being shot at or the lack of rocket attacks is a real plus.
