In the fall of 2013, in Champaign IL, I saw with my own eyes something I had wanted to see for a long time. I finally saw a UFO.
I only wish I had remembered the exact date so I could produce evidence of what I saw.

My family was having a party and we were all sitting on our backyard patio eating and talking. Around 8pm my uncle exclaimed, "what the hell is that..." we all looked where he was pointing and saw 3 triangular objects, each illuminated by 3 lights. The two farthest away had 3 white lights each. The one in the middle, closest to us, had 3 dim red lights. All 3 UFO's lights seemed to pulsate, gradually getting dimmer and brighter, but never flashing like a typical aircraft. These objects slowly hovered towards downtown Champaign-urbana and UOI, and seemed to be gaining altitude at the same time. We watched these objects for about ten minutes until they went out of sight behind some clouds. We never heard them make a sound. And we weren't alone, many others throughout town had seen either one or more of these UFO's. A friend of our uncles had even called the police to report the objects and received the most hilarious response I've ever heard; "It's just the moon ma'am, there's nothing to be worried about." As if people don't know what THE MOON looks like... they only see it every day of their lives. When my dad looked into it the next day, he found a video a guy in Springfield, IL had taken of a triangular UFO with red lights. Apparently this craft hovered over the Capitol for nearly an hour. The video was removed from Youtube soon after.

I have no evidence of my own. What I do have, is evidence that we aren't the only town in Illinois that has seen triangular UFO's, as seen in this episode of UFO Hunters:

And this is not the first time UFO's have taken interest in the twin city of Champaign-Urbana. In 2001 two police officers and several hundred students and residents witnessed triangular craft, it's sort of a local legend. Here is a video I found of the event:

Occasionally I wonder why it is that when so many credible witnesses (and I'm talking in broad perspectives here) come forward to recount their experiences with UFO's they are ridiculed, laughed at, find their careers at an end, and so on.

I have sometimes reached the conclusion that the "power structures" upon this earth cannot allow the idea of something beyond their authority to encroach on their little kingdoms - the serfs might rise up and take over!

It strikes me as odd, that in a world where silly things such as Justin Beibers new girlfriend makes front page news and is analysed down to the last detail that this isn't seen as insane. Yet, when something genuinely is 'out of this world' (potentially) it is ridiculed and made out to be false.

But then, the earth was once flat, and dinosaurs were put in the ground by the devil...

My belief of these is that they are stealth military aircraft of some type. Agreed that too many people have seen these triangles for them to be delusions or the "moon." Also the military isn't going to say "Yes, they're ours," at least not yet for whatever reasons.

As for them being truly alien who knows for sure. What I am sure of is we have a defense department that can be quite sneaky and secretive. I'll go with the obvious choice, the military.

That was actually my first thought as well, some sort of military craft. Especially when this happened the year before:

That's no moon...Or giant triangle space station.

Magical Dragon maybe.

I saw the three rear lights of the Shiloh Il "craft".

I am pretty far away and I saw the lights over the horizon of the lake.

I asked Bill Yenne what is the probability of Scott AFB being home of secret aircraft and he said not likely.

But to me this would be the perfect spot, under everyone's nose.

Anyway I believe you, after all they made a television program called "Ufo's over Illinois". There is a reason for that.

Personally I believe the "secret secret people's" let us see them from time to time, just to blow us away and think they are "other worldly". But that is only my opinion.

OP, are you sure you could see the structure of the crafts, or did you just see three points of light, like in the 2001 video?

Thanks for sharing...

Wow, that Champaign video is intense. Never seen that one before. Seems pretty anomalous to me. Clearly not sky lanterns.

It was pretty dark, so it's hard to say. At first we only saw the lights themselves. When they got closer and were above us, we could make out a triangular outline behind the lights.

My thoughts on why some who have seen ufo's and then are questioned or criticized is, because the subject of ufo's maybe in some ways is polarizing, say, not so much as climate change for sure, but there are lots of skeptics out there to quick to judge and to be immediately able to explain just about anything related to unidentified objects. I have seen posts on here from some who seemingly are able to explain abduction experiences as possibly mental illness, or drug taking or drunk or both.
Regarding the triangle nature of the crafts, I too, am open to the possibility that these could be, at least some be our own.

There must be no swamp gas where you live.
Get the second video you posted to Jim Oberg c/o ATS as soon as possible and ask him for his opinion

In watching the whole video in the OP, I really, really want to believe it's some aircraft, but the fact that the lights would get really bright, then disappear, makes me think of Chinese lanterns. I know, it's almost as lame as the moon thing, but putting it up against real known objects, that kind of makes sense. I hope I am wrong and it's something we will eventually see in daylight.

They don't seem like Chinese lanterns. They flash like strobe lights. If they were lanterns the flash would mean they are burning up, in which case they would ascend from the extra heat or drop, falling to pieces on the way down. They also flash almost at the same time but if they were lanterns the would flash randomly.

If you look at the 5 lights on the right the top most light moves in a clockwise direction over the course of a few minutes but the other 4 remain relatively still. I can't see lanterns doing this. If there was a wind they would all move.

While I agree that we cannot be entirely sure of what exactly people are seeing...there is one thing I can guarantee you of beyond question.

Top Secret military aircraft are NEVER tested or flown where the general public can see them....not until their existance becomes public knowledge. One only need to look at Groom Lake to see just how serious they are about the security surrounding black aircraft projects.

Whatever these folks saw....I do not for a second believe they are secret military aircraft.
