Sweet!

Now come up with Not trying to sell Windows 7.

This post was not to get people worried about XP. It was intended to let people know just 2 days left and nothing more. I did say I read it in my own way, how others read it is different! I like XP, Love XP so needed ways to keep it Flowing the best I can.

I'm neither right nor wrong, why does everything turn into a debate anyways? Seeking info on XP, ways to keep it working without windows support! Surely someone can come up with that, right?

Some extra program, some info on tricks or 2. Or something like changing my cards in my computer or a chip updating idea. Mem it would seem would be wise to have all you can have installed. Them small things people having a computer actually do not know. Just puch a button and off they go, seeking info, learning new things. You get the idea.

Never understanding whats inside, it goes down so buy another computer when some info could have saved time and money! Your happy with Windows 7, 8.1 by all means Be Happy! Glad for you.

Now Back to XP and tips and tricks some might want to know. Like me.

Peace

With XP everything that can be hacked has been hacked and the service packs issued. Be up to date with xp pro service pack three and I wouldn't worry about it. XP is probably more secure than anything out there, except linux and why is linux more secure? Few use it.

Hackers move on to the newest trends with easy back doors

Well someone had to pay money for this and Microsoft sprang into Action! Wonder if US will follow too! Although US would use a Law rather then give money they do not have either. It would seem that more companys use XP then what people actually know!

Glen200376? Do you think US will Follow? Really though knowing someone over there would just sell an update anyways. Things could become messy. Or Microsoft could just extend it for all and all would be good. Even $20.00 a year if its money they want would work for me!

What do you see happening?

Peace

Other then money, what is the difference?
Peace

After taking my microsoft exams in xp installation, troubleshooting and administration (70-270) it took me a further year to be able to pass the Windows 7 (70-680). The difference in capabilities between the two is huge. Far to much to list in one post.

Looks to be something interesting going on. No one knows what could happen though. Do me a favor and read the countdown page. Have you read it yourself?

What is your take on it? Good news is if Brittan is willing to buy another year of update for XP, having a friend over there can send you an update too!

For another year of course!

Peace

Computers were not in the school while I was growing up so one day shopping a goodwill noticed many laying around for $2-5.oo. Thought I might as well get to learn about one so bought all of them!

Got a book and tore into them! Really quite eazy if its a tower! Turned out out of the 5 3 of them just needed the battery, one needed a hard drive and the other was toast! Learning on an 386x2 was old school. Got online and found what I needed to know. Ended up getting hacked, thought I was a new hacker so gave me internet service for free! That was 20 yrs ago!

Playing around, created my very own boot sector virus by mistake! Hopefully it's not floating around so if it is just type diego and will work with no problems! Opp's my bad! Why I even messed with it was so I could know everything! Still have the book " Paul Mace guild to data recovery" Yet it is Dos based really and windows 3.0 was the new thing in the day!

Although now you can get a program downloaded for free to do most of the stuff needed to be done to keep things running good. Yet most install 1/2 of the program until you buy the other half of the program. Funny how one would say your in the red while other say your either green or yellow!

Most of my stuff I still use paper! Can burn if needed and no records left floating around for later. Still most do not know a web of darkness lingers in the background under the Web Itself! Don't peek unless you can handle it, there is more Truth then you know!

But thats another story,friend.

Peace

That's the thing, you don't have to come up with anything to keep XP working. It will continue to keep working as it always has. Nothing is changing except security updates.

As far as the security updates, there's nothing that can be done about that. The best that can be done in that regard is make sure you have the best antivirus, and have an excellent malware/rootkit program like Malwarebytes Pro.

I thought windows 3.1 was the best idea that began the new age of computers. Then 95 followed by 98 with a band of XP. Me never seem to last then vista although the bussness part that Dell had was interesting! At least there Windows 7 could be installed without adding new parts anyways.

Since allowing things to play out, did you check on the link from another fine ATSer linking us to XP being allowed to update another year at a small fee of 7/9? Mill!

Come On USA! With our taxes this year. Do something for Us and follow Brittan! Buy us some more Time! Go USA!

Worth the Try!

Peace

Its funny what you say because I shut off my security and never went for upgrades for my XP ...time will tell :>) It's been chuging along for 3 years now

So did I! At a certain time the upgrades became very invasive, on the main screen as you booted up.

I bought a core of Windows 7. legal. No BS crap added to my unused laptop. Best way to go, want other programs then get the free download. Buy windows with all the free Try First stuff and various things start flashing.

Click me, try me, now buy me! Next thing your have to do is clean out your Reg! Core is the best way to go, no extra crap in your system and get what you want, when you want it. Looks like its time to play with the laptop.

Yet I'm blind and the screen is so small!

Peace

I didn't like 7 at first because there were a couple of old pieces of software I used quite a bit that weren't compatible with anything after XP.I soon found replacements for them that were head and shoulders better than the stuff I had been using that had probably been around since the days of Win 95 that I never looked back.
I need (actually not need but want) a new desktop PC,but don't like Windows 8 at all which I'd have to have if I bought off-the-shelf from somewhere like PC world.Do back to the old days of building my own and installing just what I want to have on it.

Its more like waiting to find out if getting the Glasses then actually getting a computer,
Really though, what I use it for really no need to actually get one.

I was more concerned about what fallback if any would do to the system! Last week our bank just went to Windows 7. No extra money in my account; bank error, Rats! Even $50 was nice here and there! Now if it was $10,000's, I really could not say what I would do. lol

What ever happen to Windows Me or 2000?

Peace

You know for $29.99 you could get 1 meg of mem and see an 1,000% improvement! Simple to do, just ground yourself first and have everything unpluged. Ground really means touching ground and nothing fancy!

Read up on your computers How Too and its done! Found out most people buy from walmart and you get really the lowest mem and nothing special but the computer. For any computer to really work, 1 meg is the key although 2 would be better. Could go to 4 megs of mem, although your computer might not know what to do with it at 32 ver, 64 can uses it! Still overkill though.

Buy one off ebay, computer store or online. Enter in the data and check and in no time your computer will become alive for $29.00! At least it will run smother, seem faster and flow with todays world!

Peace

Catching on, Huh? Sticks and stones may break your bones, but having a computer leads to becoming stupid if you ask me. lol Toss and buy is the new Motto.

You would not happen to have a Extra Mill laying around would you? If they can pay for an extra year out east, why can't we?

Hackers! Even they hate the Low Lifes stealing peoples money. Gives them a bad name, really. For one, most see something different then MS itself, still looking at DOS as if it could actually be an AI hiding somewhere.

I do my digging, MYOB and play it safe although deleting every SSN # would be fun! Or the banking systems records of credit cards would be funny! Then we all could live Togetter as One! LOL

Peace
