The Springdale emergency notification system came back online Wednesday after it was taken down due to a large number of erroneous warnings, including a warning about a tsunami.
The system sent out text messages and emails for all National Weather Service warnings in the United States to a small group that had signed up for weather warnings between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
The warnings went out after a mistake was made during an update to the database. A line of computer code that included the location affected by warnings was not copied back to the program, according to Mayor Doug Sprouse.

April fools was 5 days ago.
Talk about slow off the draw.

Bet there were a lot of wide-eyed people in AR that night, many of them probably scrambling to get on ATS
ETA: Kinda sorta reminds me of the morning we woke up here in Atlanta to the news that Russia was invading Georgia. I have to admit, I looked out the window to see if there were any tanks on the ground or fighter jets in the air.

I didn't mean your OP.
I meant whoever issued the warning.

Okay. I couldn't resist..I had to look it up. Average elevation in Arkansas is 200 meters and it's 240 miles from the Gulf Coast...
Poor Louisiana....
I mean, the Biblical wall of water would already have washed that whole state into the Gulf before Arkansas had to worry, right?
...errr...talk about an epic OOPS.

please tell us that is a joke....being from California, I've heard all the stereotypes we here in this state have to put up with from the rest of the nation. this would just reinforce the notion that Georgians are a bunch of dumb-ass nose-picking goobers......no offense, of courseedit on 5-4-2014 by jimmyx because: (no reason given)
