After 911.....I worked down there... responded to 2 events their after terror events with in 6 months after 9/11 that were basically kept secret, I started to prep to protect my family.
I love to camp, so I was off to a good start. My cousin a lifer in the Marine Corp and my buddy a lifer army ranger both told me the same thing!
Do not bug out as I live 50 miles from NY City. They both explained every thing you need is in your home.
To make a long story short after much research this company has the best prices for any thing you may need short of guns and ammo. Check it out!

Even before 911 I bought alot of stuff from them...Top shelf!

We decided long ago to stay put in our RV. We are remotely located, and are very much used to dry camps and life "off the grid" as it were. If you must leave your home due to unforeseen circumstances, think very carefully about what you REALLY need to survive in the area you have chosen to go to. Talk to other survivalists, long distance backpackers...they can tell you what works and what doesn't. Every situation is unique. That is a great site to go to- thank you OP!!!

Good for you! Don't buy MRE'S they last only up to 5 to 7 years, unless you use those for camping.
You may find a cheaper price for Mountain Hose freeze dried< I have a 6 month supply plus canned goods and veggies I have jared.

Hey, nice suggestion Op! I spy some decent deals on there. Do you have decent personal ordering experience with them to know there aren't any issues to be aware of? (ordering SNAFU's or whatever?)

Even before 9/11 I bought a lot from the , like at least $1,000 for camping.

But their after , for example I got a Giegor counter for $79.00... retail was like $300.00 plus a spare battery pack.
Have bought lot's of clothing... top shelf...MRE'S are cheap... have the water filters from them...ect ect.

Ammo cans are cheap I have a dozen ....plus they have lock's... sealed thigh.

Here again I did a ton of research... these people are the best. I have spoken to the owners a few times...total class!

I have been prepping for two years steady.

The best advice I can give is to shop around from various such sites.

If possible, even better, find a Mil Surplus/Supply store in your area. Save on shipping.

Example.

55 gal food grade drums. On the Net anywhere from 45-90 dollars. I pay 15 per. I was able to build an nice big water storage area cheap.

As far as ammo, same thing. Keep ckecking everyday as prices drop and rise constantly between different stores. Example.

I just paid a total of $72 for two boxes of 50 rounds of LEO ammo (including shipping). One day only sale. The next closest deal for that same amount and amount would have cost $120.00.

Did I say/write something that killed this tread?

Geez. I thought it was going to take off, great topic.

Although I think we would be better to have a depository of site/companies that are dealing good stock at good prices. The stuff changes almost daily.

Now now important than ever to be prepared... You can feel it in the air!

10' x 20' camo net for $110, not bad.... Like most things, have to shop around though, I've seen some things on the site go a bit high, but others are a good deal. Compare, compare, compare. Nicely laid out site though, and great for ideas.

They have an EXCELLENT book section! All kinds of good things there.
