Obama Admin Released Tens of Thousands of Illegal Immigrant Criminals 68,000 back into USA!!!!

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows.

The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. “The criminal alien releases typically occur without formal notice to local law enforcement agencies and victims,” CIS’s Jessica Vaughan, the report’s author, added.

By “criminal,” ICE means people who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony that is not a traffic violation. For instance, traffic violations like Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or even vehicular manslaughter do not count toward this description of “criminal alien.” As for the definition of “alien,” ICE mostly means illegal aliens, though some are legal aliens when they are considered deportable legal aliens—which is possible for legal immigrants who have committed a serious crime, like a felony.

People, there is nothing racist about pointing out how our government fails to protect us from criminals regardless of their national origin. What this should tell you is that even criminals are let off if Obama thinks it serves the best interests of the party.

These are future voters who just happen to be criminals for now.

The Breitbart article makes no effort to be clear about the difference between Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which is a US Government agency, and the "Center for Immigration Studies" (CIS) which is merely another anti-immigration think tank.

Both entities are presenting "previously unpublished statistics" which should be recognized as code for "we cherry-picked a lot of data to make it look like we're being credible."

The Center for Immigration Studies is hardly an unbiased nor academic observer; here's a bit more factual data on "CIS" ... you decide.

Although the think tank bills itself as an "independent" organization with a "pro-immigrant" if "low-immigration" vision, the reality is that CIS has never found any aspect of immigration that it liked.

There's a reason for that. Although you'd never know it to read its materials, CIS was started in 1985 by a Michigan ophthalmologist named John Tanton — a man known for his racist statements about Latinos, his decades-long flirtation with white nationalists and Holocaust deniers, and his publication of ugly racist materials. CIS' creation was part of a carefully thought-out strategy aimed at creating a set of complementary institutions to cultivate the nativist cause — groups including the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and NumbersUSA. As is shown in Tanton's correspondence, lodged in the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Tanton came up with the idea in the early 1980s for "a small think tank" that would "wage the war of ideas."

Although it goes unmentioned on its website and its other materials, CIS was born in 1985 as a program of FAIR, which had been run by Tanton since he started it in 1979. Even then, Tanton understood that CIS would soon need to stand on its own in order to be seen as the "independent, non-partisan" organization that its mission statement claims today. In a letter to Cordelia Scaife May, a far-right philanthropist who supported many of Tanton's nativist endeavors, Tanton was candid.

"For credibility," he told the woman whose foundation would go on to support CIS for decades, "this will need to be independent of FAIR, though the Center for Immigration Studies, as we're calling it, is starting off as a project of FAIR."

I'm not sure how many votes that garnered Republicans, but it certainly diminished my faith in President Bush.

The OP has a restatement of a Breitbart article referring to a Center for Immigration Studies article. One interesting point is that the CIS article says NOTHING about 68,000 criminals released. The Breitbart article actually misconstrues a much more damning proposition in the "CIS" report ... (referenced in my previous post)

In the period of 2012 studied, ICE issued charging documents for 35 percent of the aliens that were encountered. In the same period in 2013, ICE pursued deportation of 27 percent of the aliens encountered. In other words, over the last two years, ICE has allowed about two-thirds of the aliens encountered or referred to its agents to go free and escape deportation.

So, in other words, Breitbart took the 35% number and multiplied it by some other mysterious "statistic" and came up with it's bogus arguments ... which don't even follow what its questionable source suggested.

Do any of you actually do any homework to try to determine where these "statistics" come from before keying in the outrage?

In the bigger picture its really not that many.... Not enough for people in reality land to care about... People that really have a problem with this kind of ARE the problem. Mind your business!

The ICE union president and an ICE agent testified that a significant number of criminals are being released from jailhouses because they say they qualify for DACA. ICE agents then are forced to release them as a result of the administration’s policies.

If the number cited is wrong, what is the correct number?

IMO however, the DHS is taking ordazz from the Obama Administration so maybe the number is actually double?

And actually when I think harder about it, I would say there's at least 12 million illegal alien criminals on the loose right now.

The law is being *Selectively Enforced* and *Selectively By-Passed* by Obama LLC using the Executive Privilege meme.

There's no real government report involved at all as far as I can tell. The one linked on the page of the Breitbart article is from October 2013 not March 31, 2014.

Breitbart seems to be making unsubstantiated claims about the CIS report, which in turn is making claims based on material cherry-picked from multiple sources ... none of which are an official government report. The only report I can find on the CIS site from Jessica Vaughn is the one I linked from October 2013. There is no report released on Sunday night 3/31/2014 from Jessica Vaughn or indeed from CIS.

The article is a convoluted piece of unsubstantiated, interpolated, BS.
