It is great news mate... but there are about 15 countries where gay marriage is legal already, we're actually a little behind.
But yes, the rest of the world should follow suit

Oh I know we were a little behind but we have caught on and hopefully we can lead by example.

Little behind doesn't matter!
The fact is its not an issue any longer,
the US uses gay marriage as a distraction tactic.

*claps*

I know...there are some that will never allow it, some places still subjugate women... we've a long way to go, but hey, my glass is half full so yaaaay, the whole world will get there soon.

You know something, I just don't get why this should be a big deal for anyone.

So gay people can get married.
It should just be a given.

So a gay person wants to get married - well get married.
Who cares?

They are just people the same as anyone else - no different.
Not one of the gay people I know wants any sort of special recognition, they just want to be the treat the same as anyone else - no better, no worse.

People shouldn't see the need to shout and proclaim this from the highest mountain, it should just be, plain and simple as that.

I hope that makes sense.

This puts pressure on the courts and politicians in Australia and the U.S. to play catch up.

Yup I agree

Iam just happy for my uncle who has been with the same fella for 20 years, adopted 2 lovely kids and now getting wed the same way all his brothers did to show his love and devotion for his partner

Plus all the equal rights that gop along with it.

This makes all of the sense.
Its a non issue in my mind, who really cares if a man can love another man (or a woman can love another woman).
Im glad there's some logic in the world.

From what I understand, in 2004 the UK granted same sex couples the right to a civil partnership that gives them many of the rights and responsibilities of marriage, but not all of them.

Could you explain to me which rights or responsibilities weren't covered by the civil partnership?

How come?
Some sort of divine retribution?
On what do you base that? Some 2000 year old human written diatribe that has been edited, manipulated and bastardised to fuel just about every hate driven dogmatic bile known to man?

Its like saying lets legalize crack/coc aine/heroine, pot already is so why not?

Well, if it weren't for T&C I'd love to have that discussion with you or anyone else, but as it is.........

Seems you just want to impose your moral values on everyone else.

Lets just give more reason for wrong to to fall in our lives... The world will never catch up, end is nigh and these are the reasons why..... no wonder humans get what we get, ignorance is bluss..... - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...

I really don't understand how someone who believes in such an omnipotent, omniscient being as 'God' would believe that this all knowing. all seeing entity would give two hoots if two people of the same sex who just happen to love each other decided to get married. How would it affect him in any way shape or form?

And how exactly does it affect you?

Why are YOU so bothered about it?

I so much want to make a comment based on this about you being the happiest person in the world, but it would be against T&C... assuming you meant 'bliss'.

So, are all of us in the UK going to be wiped out at midnight then? Citing. Or will any event now be seen as retribution?

Yes but for thousands of years MARRIAGE is the sanctity of a man and a woman, for the purpose of creation.
Since a gay couple are neither, now do you see?

It doesn't bother me, I am in Canada and my uncle is gay and married.

I am glad for the Gay Community - I noted that one of the first Gay marriages was to be in my locakl Town Hall and I wish them well.

I see the arguments that people put forward but they don't actually make sense to me because a person's sexuality (if you are a religious), is exactly what God intended when he made said person.

You can't cherry-pick divinity. Because when your religion was created, which it was by local priests, they are the ones who wrote the dogma, not God.

BTW hows your cat - Clarissa sends regards.

A perversion of the natural order does indeed come with consequences.

Forgive them father, for they know not what they do.

I think a civil union of some kind for gays should be available, as for marriage, it is just wrong.

But who am I to judge?
