How far would their actual political movement go, if they named themselves honestly and called themselves, "Evil greedy, control freaks"?

But that's what completely throws me off because I've always understood the word progressive to mean "to advance, move forward". Therefore, to progress being a good thing, not a bad thing... in my mind.

But the American definition seems to be completely the opposite ?

No - that is what is intended by Progressives, themselves. How they are defined by those that have opposing views, however, will be what it is...

You should have saved your energy in typing it out. He is closed minded on the subject. He hasn't responded to me either. The fact is that there are problems with all governments.

I don't believe anyone deserves everything handed to them, but if there is enough for everyone, why not share?

We shouldn't take away what people have earned, but make the system less evil, and fix the problems that science wont, like greed, the urge for power, and war.

Humans are better than we seem to be, the system just doesn't allow everyone the same chances.

But system is what it is because idiots like it that way, both at the top and at the bottom. It's like those photos we all saw during Occupy. People in the latest trendy clothes, with the latest Smart phones protesting...well, pretty much anything that came to their petty little minds. It was fashionable so they were there.

Not all of them were mindless drones, but a lot of them were.

The only way to eliminate corruption, greed, competitiveness, etc is to eliminate humankind. It's in our nature to be all those and always will be.

Rich people are almost cute when they aren't compelling the rest of us to the brink of extinction.

To some aspects and posters who actually took the time to reply with some degree of seriousness;

There will always be exceptions to the rule. Now we can argue and debate those exceptions, but they don't prove the rule. On the contrary, they tend to validate aspects of my rant.

(Laughing) I often find it amusing how a "rant" can garner so much attention. It's. . . well, a rant. Not something I tend to take seriously, nor should any of you.

But I do enjoy the discourse and I hope those of you that are still reading this, find the time to enjoy the humor in it as well.

So coming from inherited wealth so you can buy politicians so they will bail out your companies after the scam you have been running crashes is working hard? How dare the working class to demand justice after these people "worked so hard" to crash the economy.

Yes it has happened before, just as it has happened that those very same people revolting end up dying in droves. Probably thinking, "But this isn't fair!" For every action, there is a reaction. Meh...Get over it.
