Chinas giant ghost cities going to get filled up by new urbanization program???

hello everybody, do you remember this thread about the giant ghost cities in china that are empty and nothing going on at all??

why is china building ghost cities?

now an article i read the other day which i cannot find any more, it was with the associated press. maybe someone will be able to find it for me or also read the article, stating that the Chinese government want to get rid of all the slums in the out skirts of the cities and country side and bring these people into cities and give them a better life to live, government subsidies in living and food. considering that there are millions of people in china living in these slums. using these ghost cities and starting a new community with people and giving them a second chance on living a good life, as good as a life as it can be compared to the slums..

i hope someone can find this article for me i did a search and cannot find it. but it say that its starting a urbanization program starting in 2014-2020..

i guess china was looking out for their citizens more than I thought or maybe im totally off and not even close?? who knows only time will tell..

Wouldn't that fit nicely with Agenda 21?

id be interested to see what effect this would have on the economy there. its a huge investment of time and man power (money) just to get it rolling but in the long run it could be a great payoff.

now just imagine that everyone in your country is proud of what they own and work hard to defend their way of life... i visualize america 1950ish. everyone has a spot they can call their own and they work hard to take care of it.

in the end i think it could be like planting seeds. these small ghost cities could be the birth place of ideas in the minds of the downtrodden. ideas for new factories or new products or whatever. just NEW. RENEWING!

would be a huge waste of money if these places just turned into slums but i got a feeling that won't happen for some reason.

Yeah right, it was in anticipation of curtailing human suffering that China built enormous cities where there was no demand.

Wait, how is China going to fill these cities when one of the primary reasons they weren't being filled in the first place is because they were too expensive? Subsidies? Why can't they just lower the price of the apartments? Why subsidize the rent? Oh that's right, just another excuse to spread the corruption money around. Got it.

China is also planning ahead, these "empires" have been around a lot longer than the US and will remain around for longer.

Didn't they build cities in africa also? I could see them giving free housing to poor folks as long as they work in some dangerous mine type environment for diamonds or something valuable

I am sure I have met many chineese that are older than 65, same for russians over 25 years old.

The great wall was also a pretty cool wonder... though built by and filled in with the backs and bodies of slaves.

Given that they spent how much invading Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya et al. Yet they have homeless, starving and poor people, sounds also like human rights issues and a military dictatorship abroad.

Sounds like commie propaganda to me.

End's doesn't justify the means in this case. Those cities have been there for a long time. Those people have been starving longer. Seems like they put their money in the wrong place.

Also.. Who says the govn't would have used that money to feed the poor here if we didn't have a war? We have foodstamps. If those people don't get any, they either don't want them or they make too much for them. You have no idea how easy it is to get foodstamps and project housing here. Especially now! With a free phone to boot.

So... Starving your people by the millions on top of millions is ok compared to war? I'm sorry.. I don't see a difference. At least our wars had purpose, no matter how you look at them. Even IF they were for oil... there were still the idea of liberating those people in every case.

Well, at least they have a really good "economic planner" on the case!

Should be good to go soon, they just forgot to mandate customers as well as "businesses".

What if... it is not China building them for China,. what if another country ( or agency) is paying them to do it.

Why else would it be similar architecture to other countries, such as the replica Eiffel Tower et al.
