Yea the color is a problem. All the fire protection system on the plane is the standard fire engine red. Unless replaced with after market replacement outside of Boeing that is not what it is. Definitely not a mine. Interesting....

Anyone got map to this spot yet.

I think this may just well be a part of the plane

Seems odd something like that gets such attention and causes such a stir washing up I mean it's not like its a regular thing on a desert island

If they don't do something stupid like blow it up, thinking it's a bomb. It should be checked for a serial number.

All aircraft parts have serial numbers, noting manufacturer and date of purchase and installation.

Only the toilet extinguisher is collered red, the others are metallic color or just uncolered.

Also you would be surpriced of how fast paint can pell of when the thing is rolling around on a beach, it's a sandpaper effect.

That would be ironic..."We found a piece of the plane but unfortunately we blew it"

Would that be on the coast of India? above Chennai, Nelorre area.
Some people mentioned they had seen debris floating that could be related to flight MH370.
But hours later it was dismissed as false.

A Johor housewife has claimed that she saw the stricken Malaysia Airlines plane partly submerged in the waters off the Andaman islands when she was returning to Kuala Lumpur after a pilgrimage to Mecca on March 8.

She said she had taken flight SV2058 that left Jeddah at 3.30am Saudi time (8.30am Malaysian time) and after the plane flew past the southern Indian city of Chennai, she saw something strange in the ocean.

An drifting west is headed for the beach where the item washed up.

As an aircraft mechanic by profession, I also agree that it looks like a fire bottle. Looks just like the ones I work with.

I actually sent an email to the reporting newspaper (Maldives) to explain that this was indeed part of a Boeing fire suppression system. Along with back up pictures and installation / manufacturers details etc. That should put the cat among the pigeons. However this needs to be forwarded to CNN or whatever. Does anyone have any contacts?

Here's to it raining Sh* on someones parade

The thing to explain is the 6 or 7 hours of pings and the so called proof the plane was moving. Certainly floating slowly would not equal flying south 100s of miles. But then so much of this stuff doesn't fit together.
