The common "alien" form is the bug-eyed, spindly creature, that seems to have an in-built space suit.
If you go into the actual reports of Extraterrestrial sightings there is not a single description anything like what you said...Further, that most "visiting" ETs "look" more like Terrestrial Humans than anything else.

Basically, when they travel through worm-holes or experience oblivion - i.e. inside a small black hole, they turn inside out, and their suits are custom-designed to create an exoskeleton.

You mean 'the greys'?? There are other aliens that people report. Like the Nordics. Or Reptilians.
I sometimes wonder if the greys are us earthlings from the future.
If people then come back to study their past. (us)
I doubt we'll find out in this lifetime.

The Grey alien is the most stereotypical that has anything to do with aliens, mainly due to Hollywood depiction of an alien.
-- en.wikipedia.org...
The men stood about five feet to five feet four inches tall, and wore matching uniforms, with caps similar to those worn by military cadets. They appeared nearly human, but with bald heads, large wraparound eyes, small ears and almost absent noses. Their skin was a greyish color
So...basically they looked like anybody else who doesn't get enough Sun, is bald, and has cool "sun glasses" even if not needed. From Betty's description, they were not even remotely "alien", even IF; not of Earth.
In the 1893 article "Man of the Year Million", H. G. Wells envisaged humanity transformed into a race of grey-skinned beings, stunted and with big heads. (Compare the Morlocks of Wells's 1895 novel, The Time Machine, who appear greyish-white and large-eyed, but hairy.) In his 1901 book The First Men in the Moon, Wells described Selenites (natives of the Moon) as having grey skin, big heads, large black eyes and wasp-stings. He also briefly describes aliens resembling Greys brought down to Earth as food by the Martian antagonists of his 1898 novel The War of the Worlds.

Again, this is the Betty Hill alien. They only resemblance to a "terrestrial" is a person with Down's syndrome.
From here they evolved to look less retarded and more alien.

There are no "common" aliens. Unless youre basing that statement on video games. They look like everything and nothing you've ever seen.
Any reasonable person would accept the fact that we have no clue, and along with all those possibilites...they also could look just like us...and are probably in line next to you and me at the gas station etc....
