Kinda cool and yet to me...terrifying.

Kinda cool huh? Gonna stand in line overnight to get one aren't you?

Well let's think about that for a minute:

Android Wear is a watch-like device that features Google Now. The commercial shows people literally talking to their wrists all day as the little smart watch feeds them information about every thing they are doing as they go about their daily lives. Wired is calling it “Google Now for your Body.” Google Now is an electronic “smart” personal/social assistant that, according to the Wikipedia entry on it, “uses a natural language user interface to answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by delegating requests to a set of web services. Along with answering user-initiated queries, Google Now passively delivers information to the user that it predicts they will want, based on their search habits.”

Still think it's cool?

I don't.

Folks, this may be the last piece of shiny things that is finally need to track, monitor, control, study and direct us while we believe we are actually controlling it. Think about this; right now we see people walking eating, working etc...and all the time having their phones stuck to their face. We can't even go through a check out line without standing there glassy eyed and staring at our phones.

What have we become? Tech Prisoners.

Think the commercial is cool? Young kids standing in line dancing, dad bathing his cute little kid...all strapped to tech and allowing it to take control.

Think again:

www.activistpost.com... again, ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt, the guy who chalks the enormity of the NSA spy program down to just “the nature of our society,” told us this was coming back in a September 2008 interview with McKinsey Quarterly:

When people have infinitely powerful personal devices connected to infinitely fast networks and servers with lots and lots of content, what will they do? There will be a new kind of application and it will be personal. It will run on the equivalent of your mobile phone. It will know where you are via GPS, and you will use it as your personal and social assistant. It will know who your friends are and when they show up near you. It will remind you of their birthdays. [...] When you go to school it will help you learn, since this device knows far more than you ever will.

Look further than the coolness folks, this is a device that will basically enslave society and yet I just know that people are going to go willingly to sign up to be monitored through every aspect of their lives. It's horrifying to me. Servitude of the masses by their own choice? What have we become and how did we get to this point? We are willingly walking into a prison state without the walls.

Think about it...twice, three times...Do you REALLY need it? Are you willing to strap on a Device like a monitoring bracelet such as the ones that control inmates on leave? Or the ankle jewelery people are forced to wear when confined to their home?

This is a Tech Prison without the walls. But believe me, the walls are there. You just won't see them.

Peace

Sad thing is...The masses WILL line up three times around the block to get it! I'm amazed that where I work most people cant wait for their break to get back on the device. Daydreaming has become a lost art!

How did people survive before this nifty gadget? I really do think that people are being esclavizado (enslaved), as they say in Spanish.

I might last five minutes with that strapped on my wrist. I'd have to cut off my hand, if need be, to get rid of the annoying talking gadget.

Idiots will gleefully buy this. I may be a idiot but I'm not that stupid, there's enough snooping going on without me willingly entering more info into the fray.

As far as I care they can wear what they want but you'll never find a piece of tech like that on me. If they want to be tracked it seems a bad idea but doubtful they think that way about this stuff.

The only tech I really hate is that Google glass surveillance gear. That kind of gear I find to be offense type equipment, as in those wearing it are destroying not only their own privacy but others privacy as well.

The scary thing is that people are lining up to be enslaved...willingly.

I think Carl Sagan summed it up quite nicely.

We've arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces. ~Carl Sagan

They are trying to capture the "SoCal" market and lifestyle only as this will NOT sell outside of California.
The full bore "shop to drop" phy-ops is waining...but very slowly...women are maniacal.

Well if that scares you i hope you are older because you won't recognize life on earth in twenty years. You won't have to worry about rfid or stuff like watches. I am talking in your body, part of you. It will be in your blood stream. Tiny nanobots living in and powered by your body. Doing everything from cleaning your blood, controlling blood sugar, repairing your heart.

Tech becomes part of everyday life and your body. It replaces body parts, it is in your clothing, adjusting to different temperature variations. Changing the color and shape of your car at will. Literally, you won't recognize life in the future. Unless, you are one of the forgotten. The millions who don't have the money to survive in this high tech world that is controlled not by governments but by corporations.

Yea, you won't be able to escape tech in the future. They will know everything about you. Enjoy your freedom now. There will be no privacy in the future. Since I am not wealthy i am gonna be on the outside looking in lol. Some of the movies, elysium etc. truly are a look into the future in some aspects. Nanotechnology is going to change everything.

Remember startrek and how they would use the computer and equipment to just create something, kinda like three D printing lol. It is going to get crazy lol. We are growing body parts now lol. Bionic man, no longer a sci-fi tv show. Terminator, sky net, they are building it. Google is skynet.

Many may laugh, but the future is happening now. It has begun.

What people don't realize is that everyone participating in this up and coming new age of technology experiment will practically have their whole life documented, tracked and recorded indefinitely. There will be maps, logs and media of where you've been, what you did and who you did it with on a minute by minute basis. All this information could be stored on server farms anywhere on earth, or maybe even space, so you will never gain access to it.

Don't have anything to hide? Then you are the perfect candidate. In the not so distant future you might very well be the target of a malfunctioned or malicious entity. Be that entity a person, an advanced A.I., a corporation or a government. Even someone who's "just following orders." All the innocent stored information about your past can now be taken out of context and be used to incriminate, humiliate or blackmail you. This can affect everything from your home and family to your prospective future careers.

Not such a rosy picture now. But its fine because nothing on the internet is true anyway

NOT sell outside of Cal?

When (and I mean WHEN) it is released, Cal is only the starting point. This will go Global in micro seconds as it is meant to enslave society. Not just Cal.

SHOP TO DROP is alive and well...remember Black Friday?

Indeed. And lest we forget, HGWells and the Eloi.

I really feel sorry for people who believe they will need this.

My rants could span pages as why this is unnecessary but it will not change the future. Our children are going to be raised with this technology completely surrounding them. They will not know the difference and believe the hype. We are the last of a dying breed of humans. The last of any type of resistance.

Corporations are not dreaming this up....we are. WE are the ones in the board rooms filling up pages of ideas for the next big thing and we are getting paid handsomely for our own demise. We are the people at Google who dream up this technology.

We are defeating ourselves and allowing ourselves to become dependent on a fallible system. Oh how we will panic if in the future, electricity fails us.

I look at this new garbage and all I can do is shake my head in disgust. We are heading towards a future that I don't want to be a part of.

I grew up in a time when privacy was a right and was respected.

Now it's being torn away from us and the sheep are lining up willingly to allow it. Brainwashing on a mass scale.

If you aren't terrified about your future...you aren't listening.

Spot on post Bot. Makes all the little squabbles over this and that kinda moot, hey? All the pushing and shoving about which party to vote for, which philosophy to embrace. For a while I was actively involved with doing what I could to effect our future. Then, I just watched it unfolding and tried to keep up. Now I mow the grass and laugh at my earlier assumptions.

All that data will be available to insurance companies!!! When you get ill and go to get treated the insurance company will say "On (insert dates here) you ate unhealthy food. On (insert dates here) you didnt exercise. So we're not paying!"

And the fools will line up for these devices.

but people can't do basic functions anymore without technology..sarcasm..

yesterday i stopped at the store and purchased some junk..the total came to 14.74..the girl ringing it through the computer must have hit something because it wasn't giving the change owed to me (i gave her a 20)..I calculated what i was owed very quickly because the calculation is obviously childsplay..and as I stood there a good 2 maybe 3 minutes to wait for the computer to do it's thing I wondered if she knew how to count up? I could have been driving home already if she would have just counted up the change...but I really don't think she knew how..she was waiting on the computer to tell her..btw the change drawer was already opened..so she wasn't waiting on the computer to open it.
