Clearly not MH370. That is, unless a Citroen 2CV can look like a Ferrari.

Yea well... not that I want to ruin the idea but...

that was just a terrible example...

The paint job doesn't match.

Malaysia Airlines has a White tail and white rear body section....this has dark paint. It can't be the same flight.

Thats it, youd think that ATS had better observers...

I was just trying out that website, and I have to say, I would have tagged that. Is it on the ground?

My guess would be that we are looking at the plane belly up with no engines and the mist is smoke from a crash?

Crowd-thinking wins again. That's why I like discussions like this. At first look it does look like a 777 and does look very oddly positioned, very suspicious.

That is, until intelligent minds looked, analyzed, and determined that in fact it's not a 777 and was in fact flying above the tree line.

Great for posting the picture and the thread, and kudos for the ones who made a proper determination of what it is.

those coordinates lead to an area that is headed by 'Landfall Island'..ing southward, the exact coordinates fall on 'Defence Island'. However, I have a ssatellite view of what appears to be an obvious airliner...but looks like almost a double image..one on top of another. I've been up all night monitoring it. It's located off the east shore of Little Andaman Island, which is just south of South Sentinel Island and North Brother Island.

I believe that this plane is in midair. Also the plane is not a Boeing 777. The triple 7 has a more v shaped tailplane. It looks to me as the plane is either an A320 or a B767. Either way it's not the lost B777. I'll put some images to back my evidence.

A picture of the B777 (note the slightly swept back tailplane)

A Picture of the A320

A picture of the B767

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an expert at the field of aerodynamics,I'm just a paranoid aircraft mania.

Hey can you post a link to this image please?

Did Malaysian Airlines 370 disappear using SIA68 (another 777)?

Could be related to this thread posted above.

The level of animosity that some people like to display when commenting on a neutral subject is pretty amazing.
Nowww I remember why I don't bother posting new topics on here. Because regardless of the content, research, and the disclaimers CLEARLY stating that I don't know what kind of plane this was and was unsure whether it was flying or not (initially that is, it's clear now that this is a mid-air picture, after analysis), the flaming still ensues.

Mods, feel free to close and lock the topic.

Honest contributors: Thank you for your helpful input and due diligence, together it seems that we've come to a fairly resounding conclusion that this is nothing but another aircraft on its way to land nearby at IXZ airport.

Trolls, feel free to continue posting rude/snide commentary, as I really don't care/give a sh!t anymore.

With that, I bid you all adieu on this topic.

Don't let the dull of heart darken your mind. You were absolutely brilliant in bringing this image here and the proof of that is in this thread. Within a couple hours your fellow members (the ones who "get it") had ascertained that it wasn't likely to be a 777.

Had some cub reporter at CNN or FOX got hold of this first they would have claimed it was not only a 777 but that Jimmy Hoffa was flying it. Now when they inevitably do pick this up at least we will have a reference with good analysis for people to get the real story.

I'd like to thank parad0x122 for bringing this here, it's exactly what ATS is here for.

Yeah I know, the initial poster posted it less then 14 hours ago, and to my knowledge only myself and one other person even posted a reply to look at it...no one else was able to cross reference the lat/long to find that it actually is a feasible distance from where the plane was last known to be located either, as Tomnod doesn't natively share the lat/long unless you do some coding trickery. Just too friggin' weird to see a plan just sitting on the ground like that...

I might call when I get out of work in 2.5 hours.

That plane doesn't appear to be sitting on the ground, but banking starboard and flying at a low altitude. I say that because a plane landing/crashing into such a dense forested area would NOT look that intact.

I said the same thing some pages back... Pulse not only the paint, but the plane itself is not a 777-200, its clearly a smaller plane, with smaller and different wing design.

That Tomnod is hard to use, doesnt give you any overview , that plane has gone now anyway, it was clearly flying
