In the source code, there is what looks like to be another script for a countdown, but it doesn't call back to anything so it's not actually doing anything.



This is directly beneath the grid of letters that seems to contain a message, though no one as yet has deciphered what the message is.

I explained this before, but I'll explain it again.

the person who is doing this have little technical knowledge so he copies stuff from the HTML template he bought. There is a lot of unused code and trash on the page. He is just copying and pasting. That div is a placeholder for a counter that runs on a _javascript that is not active. That div is trash.

I agree id wager its a hoax by a person or two but for it to be a good hoax it needs to come full circle....they didnt do anything yet but leave it open to interpretation. So I think there is either more hints coming or word will get around because as of now we have nothing.

Lets say though for a minute..it is someone who truly believes in their work...they can hold on to this for a few days...wait for the next earthquake or missile to fire and then be like.....see!!!! I told ya!!! Or keep it going with more riddles.

LOL...yes, I can see that happening as a means to continue to get a rush from it.

It's like a geo cache game. You follow the clues, get to the next location in the game...but the box is empty...

How long does the site owner think they can keep getting people to follow?

Yeah, I know.

Was answering cosmic explorer's question in a way that he would hopefully get and didn't feel like searching back for your post answering this the first time.



So the site had it's peak traffic yesterday when the initial countdown was scheduled to have ended and now that nothing has happened and no one has seemed to have made progress on deciphering the (implied) message in the text, interest seems to be waning.

But...but...but...that whittles away at our need to have someone in the know, about some big event, that is letting us in on the big secret via their convoluted secret message....

IF...in the future, someone real comes along with a real event...we are worn down by the *boy who cried wolf* syndrome.

I will admit I always find these kinds of mystery sites to be fun to follow.

And this is equally as possible an intention as is the honeypot use of snagging certain audiences due to the content of the message. I mean, never waste a good crisis, right?

If you can accomplish multiple goals with one effort then you're job becomes much easier.

If anyone else wants to give it a go, I made this...you can print it out and fill in what the doomporn guy already has and keep going or just start anew on your own. Then once all the words are known we have to figure the semblance and rule out any non words...and by non I mean of no relation to the intended message.

I have to admit I have seen more results from the word search idea than any code...so I have to agree with those that are on the word search side of the fence.

I see a few words in there but nothing coherent. In the source for the page, I found the following coordinates:

64°00'00.0"N 150°00'00.0"W

and

39.814497,-24.15176 4

The first is the Northern edge of the Dinali Wilderness in Alaska, the second is in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. The map on the page is able to be dragged with your mouse and has the Alaska coordinates marked but I don't see the second set.

There is also an irc chat room here though it is very slow and near empty now.

I'm also watching the thread that troof mentions and posting there occasionally.

I believe BIN has some comments, but that site sucks more than most to my eyes so I stay away...

then there are the comments in the mrgreyface youtube channel.

I'm sure there are a few other places, been using google with the past 24 hours and newest settings to look for the most recent updates there.

So far there seems to be no real progress.
