I've been following the news today but it seems the Ukraine crisis has dropped off the main news stories for some reason? Last night there were scenes of increasingly turbulent marches in cities around Ukraine, some turning violent, yet today there's nothing at all about developments there? Nothing on the main page of the bbc news site, only a small article on sky news site about Russian soldiers firing on a Ukranian base. Sky News channel mentions it every now and again but they breeze over it and move on. I know the media in the UK is manipulated/ screened anyway, but isn't it a bit obvious to just stop coverage altogether? Anyone else noticed this today?

They are waiting Russia to act, and creating new propaganda to counter attack the Russians.
Lets see how its played out, if you cant wait, look for the Russia side of story, their propaganda should be working hard now.

The real reason for a bit of silence from both sides may be a sign that many are not buying into any of the propaganda from either side .That saying that no news is good news may apply in this case ..

After paying insanely close attention to all the "news" coming out of the Ukraine I have come to a conclusion.

Russia and the "Governments" of the Ukraine and Crimea deserve each other. Both sides spew constant propaganda and neither is to be trusted. Both sides have beaten hurt and killed people, both sides have lied and cheated. Both sides are in it for the money.

Until bullets are flying in Poland or Turkey I am gonna chill out and ignore the mess for a while. Not the USA's fight at this point.

Quite honestly this is pulling a lot of attention away from Africa. You know Africa, that place where tens of thousands die while the USA ignores it......

But there are still protests going on over there right now. That hasnt stopped, theyve just decided to stop covering it today. Whats changed since yesterday in terms of public interest? Its the same as when Syria was all over the news, and then suddenly everyone lost interest but the fighting continues to this day. I hate that we have no control over the (mainstream) media we see, everyones got an agenda these days

But this describes the United States as well...

There is an old saying: The People get the Government they deserve. The USA citizens are as deserving of this one as the Ukrainians are of theirs.

btw should Mexico ever drive tanks across our southern border I will be one of the first in line to fight them back with any means necessary. No bullets flying in Ukraine, not yet anyway.

While Susan Ormiston was reporting from Crimea, we saw people challenging her and behaving aggressively towards her crew. Saying she is from Canada made no difference as they were accused of being spies. Susan later reported that the soldiers have dug trenches, and the crew was turned away and warned not to return.

As soon as we passed a sign for the border with the Ukrainian mainland, our driver started to get nervous. He slowed down as we moved forward. Out of the left side of our vehicle, we saw soldiers in green camouflage manning positions dug into the ground. Several military transport trucks were parked closer to the checkpoint.

It’s clear the Russians and their supporters in Crimea don’t like journalists — especially those from abroad. There’s a feeling here that the international media coverage has been one-sided, so foreign journalists have been branded spies and provocateurs.

Well I think it may be possible for you to find something other then msm to follow and try and get a good grip on the day to day situation .Expecting the msm to report the truth about it and only adding propaganda, you will need to sort through is not a bad thing .Use this thread to add what you find not covered and we can check in from time to time to see what you find out ...peace edit to add you already have the perfect title to do that :>)

Well Obama tried his best to make it your fight!

You could point to Africa, but there are plenty of places with problems at the moment. I wouldnt expect the US to care about Africa right now though, frankly theres nothing for them to gain from it at the moment..

The scary thing about this for Journalists is that is would be incredibly easy to victimize them and deny responsibility as there are simply way to many groups involved.

Bad place to be.

A understandable response towards reporters from the west that may misrepresent what they are reporting on .Many times I watch and listen to stories that come from CBC that do not represent the truth right here at home .Not saying she is not a credible journalist but I think it's well known that the media has a way of spinning things that make the truth a bit fuzzy at times .

I dont have a problem finding alternative news, its just annoying that the news that is rammed down our throats every day is so tainted. I just wondered if anyone else out there noticed it. Are other countries MSM doing the same I wonder?

There is no where in the artical where they accused them of being spies .That was a assumption at the end of the piece and the qualifer was ,that seeing the west was misrepresenting the facts that was probably what they may have been thinking .

The parallel they are NOT willing to make is that of the Quebec situation, which is just about to begin round 2. Crimea is an independent state still linked to Ukraine and unlike Ukraine, it does not want to be linked to the EU. So their parliament in defiance of that pro-EU stance said it wanted to link to Russia instead. I predict that in June of next year, we will see Harper or whoever gets elected in his place giving us similar spin about hanging on to Quebec as Ukraine is doing right now about Crimea.

Without a blink, yes. Everyone playing their own propaganda, all sides. True journalism died ages ago, these days its all scripted and labeling.
Sit down and remove all labels and you will found, its just people trying to live vs people trying to control people wo are trying to live.
