The starlight seemed to bend around it… it was just so real. .edit on 2014-03-08T19:08:29-06:002014290308kSatAmerica/ChicagobSat, 08 Mar 2014 19:08:29 -0600 by cosmikDebris because: grammar

1. I don't recall any of us feeling like time had passed in any odd way. We all had fallen asleep. The first to wake up was one of my friends in the other tent and he woke up the two others with him. I woke up a couple minutes after. We had been asleep one to two hours.
2. No signs of implantation on me and none of the others, as far as I know. Really as scary as it was there was never a time where any of us considered that we had any sort of abduction experience. That being said, I KNOW what I saw that night and I fully believe, now, that literally nothing is outside the realm of possibility.
3. She, like the rest of our crew, was a spiritual person but not a religious person... if that makes sense. In the few years before this happened she got really into Ouija boards, as well as a few other strange things, but I remember the Ouija board specifically. I used it with her and a couple other people a few times and some very strange stuff did happen but I never really gave it a second thought. She was really freaked out about it though so maybe she's just more sensitive to paranormal types of things.
4. When I awoke in my tent, I felt like I was physically humming the sound I was hearing. I could feel it reverberating in my diaphragm. It was loud but not unbearably so, but really my teeth were almost chattering from the vibration. While all 5 of us were standing looking over the water and over our heads at the disc, we were all scared but there was nothing we could do about it except stand in marvel. I've never considered that it was there to intimidate us but certainly it knew we were there. Honestly, when I hear abduction stories I get a little jealous that they didn't choose me (as far as I know).
5. Geometry is not my strong point, I could probably draw it but for now the best I can say is that it was almost like the starlight that should have been above the object (obscured from our view) was being bent and stretched and was spinning elliptically around the center point of the ellipse, kind of like the hands on an oval shaped clock except the hands were stretched out lines of light of varying brightness. Every so often it was like light was reflected in such a way that you could see the elliptical profile of the object. It seemed to shine and was very obvious that something was there and its shape was clearly defined.
6. Personally I kept going back and forth between "wow what a crazy dream" and "oh no, I'm going to die" - however, after a short time I felt very at peace (probably because I couldn't do anything about it) and I know I can speak for most of the group when I say that in the long run it was a positive experience, in that it confirmed our teenage suspicions that there was something bigger than ourselves in the universe.
7. I've considered that it could've been human technology but then I remember the way the thing took off. It slowly moved away from the island and shot up and into the sky without any sign of thrust or anything like that. So, so fast, and on a perfect curve. When I think solely about my emotions at the time, I would also say that it was not of earthly origin.

I do wonder . . .

That's interesting. There was a church minister who was saying that people who had experimented with Ouija boards had even tried summoning a UFO.

Having witnessed something similar, I know exactly what you are talking about. You might actually be (reliving events) and not know it. By the way… what do you dream about?
Then again you seem balanced, maybe the others standing outside were the ones that "went for a ride" whilst you slept? Have you asked them what they dream about?

Was this near Eagle Lake in East Hancock, Maine?

This description of the sensations you were experiencing sounds exactly like the full-body vibrations I've felt just before I fall asleep. Either that or I'm actually woken up from it. There is a thread on here about body vibrations during sleep where the general consensus is that the body-vibrations are related in some way to astral travel and OBEs.
If I happen to still be awake (but drifting very, very close to sleep) when it starts it is like a switch. I feel something shift and I know that in a moment the vibrating will start full throttle--and it is a strong, head-to-toe sensation starting from the center of my body and radiating off my spine like heat (actual heat included). At this point, laying in my bed, I get the common feelings of someone watching me and the idea that these vibrations are being done to me (as opposed to my own body doing it itself) is quite strong.
I don't mean to derail the thread. I don't know if it is related. I just wanted to describe it more in case it rings any bells.
cosmikDebris The vibration I felt that night was similar, but more foreign (if that makes sense). It's really interesting that you say you feel the vibrations are being done to you, I've never looked at it like that. When I am trying to astral project I feel like I am in complete control of the vibrations and I can move them to different areas of my body and control the intensity. That night when I woke up I was not in control. It felt like being in a diesel truck going down the highway, but the pitch of the sound was almost exactly like when I say "hummmm".

Awesome description, thanks for sharing.
Certain aspects of what I and others saw one night prompt me to say…
Whatever it was it wasn't earth technology and yet… it was technology.
This is an example of what one might expect from actual "warp drive" technology: the optical consequences and appearance of gravitational lensing. For example, the craft might in fact have been physically circular and rotating in actuality but the effect of "warp drive" on space-time metric which affects all of physics, including light propagation, made it appear distorted like an ellipse.

Half of us had a good buzz on, but we were mostly saving our energy up for the next couple days of mind-bending.

As a story it's interesting but I don't see how you people expect to be believed, it's too many cases like that with just stories. But since you said you didn't bring cameras and things like phones with cameras that would be more common nowadays
conundrummer
Very interesting story. Can you elaborate on this?
