The best form of stealth would be for surface ships to cruise underwater, at a very shallow depth so that their missiles and guns could be quickly deployed above the surface when necessary. Aircraft carriers might even have to achieve this at some point.

very true and by that account its missiles 5 ships 1 (1 asm killed during gw1 and 5 hit during various wars with subsonic asm`s)

so in reality - commanders will be very scared of missiles (excuses of weather , dodgy systems and bird poo aside)

Hi Guys

Well I think we are not talking sense, Brahmas is not a weapon that will be ever used against America or Russia, both nations with whom India has "the" most excellent relations.

India has been the victim of China's aggression when it just became independent and even today faces provocative Chinese threats.

India has also been a victim and has fought three wars with Pakistan who like China has laid claims to Indian terriority !

India has been perhaps the only country that has to face "State sponsored terrorism" for over 20 years !

It took an incidence like the 9 / 11 to awaken the Americans and the Europeans and jolt them to accept that a close ally [Pakistan "was indeed the epicenter of terrorism in the World?

India has also accepted the fact that when threatened it has to act alone and not count on fair weather democratic friends to defend itself.

It is this context we need to see India's push to get its Army fit enough to face and squash the terrorist’s. Can USA and its allies afford to be pretensive and hold moral ground in fighting terror specific to its interest or join Democratic nations in flushing out terror all over the world?

Unfortunately USA has a long history in cosing up to Military dictatorship and had very uneasy relations with democracies all over the world?

These threads are speculative and meant to be a discussion of KNOWN parameters...

But I can't help mentioning the Trillion Dollar US Black Budget and the fact that we don't exactly mention what we really have in the shed to break loose in the event of the event.

I don't feel particularly alarmed at any weapons development out there given the simple fact all we are working with in these scenarios is half of what we are actually spending on defense and no one is talking...

no... this missile surely isn't any kind of threat
