I'm not too sure what's going on here.
I just find it strange that they hear the pings right when the battery is about to die. If they wanted to cover-up something, this would be the right time to say they heard pings. So they can say there is evidence of a crash (the pings) without any physical evidence to back it up.

I agree completely I posted a few days ago about carrot dangling then the whole sorry the batteries died we can no longer detect that's the end of that.
It is absolutely baffling that not one shred of debris has been located with the amount of planes and ships searching.

There was a lady in the UK a couple of weeks ago who thought she spotted an intact plane on tomnod. It was in the news and indeed looked exactly like a plane.

That was the date on the article , roadgravel.
Some of the initial search areas were near shipping lanes, but the latest search areas aren't near shipping lanes to my knowledge.
ThePeaceMaker
This may be a stupid pointless question, but is there anyway we can find a shipping forecast on the date of when the plane went missing. I'd like to know how's many commercial boats there were in and around the search area. The reason being if there were any ships in that area would they of not found any wreckage or seen anything
A solar flare can incapacitate satellite communications if it's strong enough, but the aircraft are still low enough to be largely shielded from solar flares. You do get a higher dose of radiation in a plane compared to on the ground solar flare or not, but consider that planes can be struck by lightning and not be affected because of the way they are shielded, and most solar flares would have a tiny effect on an aircraft in comparison to a direct strike by a large lightning bolt, which usually doesn't do much to the aircraft, though it scares everyone on board with the loud noise.

Stupid question: would a solar flare interfere with the the planes instruments or cellphones? There was a few solar flares around that time. Has been lately

Yes it was April Fools day but this article was highly debated on another forum and somehow I don't really think it was a joke. You know there's a saying, "Behind every joke, there is an underlying truth." Maybe not every joke but atleast some have truth to it. This could be one and everyone's just dismissing it like the previous news claims which none of us know if true or not.
