We hold a decent amount of treasury bonds – more than $200 billion – and if the United States dares to freeze accounts of Russian businesses and citizens, we can no longer view America as a reliable partner,” he said. “We will encourage everybody to dump US Treasury bonds, get rid of dollars as an unreliable currency and leave the US market.
They WOULD shut down Oil and Gas supply to Western Europe.
They WOULD dump 200 billion of US bonds in one day.
Before you go and make enemies of Russian Federation, what you should ask yourself is, is dinky little Crimea worth it (there is no way in 100 years they will give up their naval base), is it worth you having your pension halved, or your social security halved, or further cuts in food stamps. Or your stock Market portfolio taking a dive.

Let them do it, a blow to US and Europe for sure, do you think Russia dont depend on selling that gas/oil, or that bonds dont give them stability?

To me, yes it would be. That dinky little Crimea has PEOPLE there, with families and children that love them. It may cost me alot of money but money is not what makes me happy. I can survive if my gas price goes up or my stocks take a dive, I will just have less money. I will buy a few loaves of bread instead of going to Joes Crab Shack every week. Drop my nasty cigarette habit. No biggie. Life is more precious than my stocks any day.

Democracy didn't work in the eastern countries.
For them, democracy equals to get rich quick,as can be seen in what the ex Ukrainian officials left behind them when they have left out of the country.

It's wild that you ask if it's worth it when it WAS for dinky south Korea...it was worth it for a LOST Vietnam...it was worth it to punish millions in Cuba,

Have you seen the RT show on wealth of New Ukraine Government leaders.
All of them with Huge Villas, and properties almost equaling Yanukovich, all rich bastards.
This is why it is important to watch both Pro and Con news to see what's going on.
