An explosion caused by a damaged gas line in Mercer County, New Jersey blew several homes in to smithereens and sparked a major fire, according to reports and video from the scene.
Public Service Electric and Gas Company utility workers were repairing a gas line when the explosion ripped through the complex on Crockett Ln., injuring at least nine people according to My Fox Philly.
Two utility workers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the company said.
A resident of the complex, Marsha Brown, told the local news station the blast was a ""Huge explosion, like a bomb. A house was in flames, gas workers were laying out with legs broken, arms broken, gashes."
