So there's a new Rambo game out and it's awful , so awful it may even rival Ride to Hell: Retribution for being the worst game this decade , but salvation may be at hand ..... well perhaps not but at least this one is free.

What I offer you is a browser game created by Naughty Dog’s Peter Javidpour , it's short , humorous and although I haven't played the new Rambo game from what I've seen of it this is probably better.

You are John Rambo and it's your mission to make amends to the people you've slaughtered ....by giving them a Hug

Enjoy ... it's just for fun

www.peterjavidpour.com...

If anyone figures out the telephone number let me know.

It cant be any worse then shaq fu, I did hear that it was pretty terrible though. I am still on the fence about getting new consoles because i am watching lots of bad games coming out but in lieu of this perhaps pc gaming is in a slump too. I was tempted to buy an Alien ware consolish pc for gaming but don't know

Shaq Fu was better than Adventure. Anyone remember that? It was just awful. I never even figured out what the point was. I found a key once......couldn't figure out what to do with it.

Yeah I remember that piece of crap atari game, that was pretty bad. There are a few games from my childhood I was excited about that turned out to be barely even playable and sucked another one would be the sequel to toe jam and earl, the immortal (wasn't bad bad but just disappointed about it) and there were so many.

I think alot of these major game reviewers are payed off to give good reviews to games whether they suck or not. I watch gameplay and follow gamer boards before I buy a game and usually the gamers that buy it will give you an idea of how good or bad a game is. Gamespot, IGN, Machinima are examples of corporate blow holes that will give a bad game a good review, The best in my opinion of game news and technology is Adam Sessler and his associates at Rev3games on youtube, they are overly fair and honest with their particular style of journalism. Also if you are into retro gaming like I am, I prefer the youtube channel Gamesack and they are entertaining and give you a good review alongside non other then metaljesusrocks and the happy console gamer.

You may be right it has scored higher than Retribution but at least you had freedom of movement in Ride to Hell: Retribution , I think the QTE / on rails shooter elements that make up the Rambo game are enough to consign it to the dustbin of history.

The Metacritic average is 35/100 on the PC with a user rating of 2.3/10 , in anyone's language it's a stinker

Not all on rails shooters are bad but from what I gathered from steam you are right rambo is a festering pile of stinky brown matter. My favorite on rails game is Dragons Lair on the 3DO it may be the only good game on the laser disk, I was actually offered 2000$ for mine not long ago, I picked mine up for 5$ with the game (only game I have for it) inside the actual console I bought it with a bundle of commodore stuff for 15$ 2 hard drives and that.

Also Gortex I never took you for a gamer haha I really like video games especially retro games because of the art styles introduced in a "new" media thats what really grabbed me as a kid and has influenced me my whole life as far as being an artist. I wish there was a collective gallery of some stills of older games that should be indoctrinated into some kind of hall of fame for video game artistry. IMO that is, maybe Ill start one, one day.

Done right on rails can be fun as a pick up and play but I think people were expecting much more from this game
I was a big fan of Panzer Dragoon on the Sega Saturn (yeah I had one) which was great but I also remember the shockers like ground zero Texas and the others on the Sega CD (yeah I had one of those too) which were painful , in today's market QTEs are not enjoyed by many gamers plus with the addition of on rails shooting as the only break from the button bashing it just seems like this was a sloppy cash in on the Rambo name.

Also Gortex I never took you for a gamer

I started with the Sinclair spectrum in the 80s and have owned pretty much every failed console put out..lol.. until I saw the light and converted to PC about 10 years ago ....guess I went full circle.
Once a gamer always a gamer

What I like most about Dragons Lair on the 3DO is that it is something akin to what the Wii did for social groups of casual gamers well ahead of its time and probably never had this in mind, is that it is an interactive cartoon in which you and your buddies can pass a bottle of swill and a controller around and progress through the game, the button mashing only sucks if you are the only one mashing buttons but when done in small sessions between friends it becomes an incredible experience/ drinking game at least for some. If the idea of passing the controller was in mind like what I am trying to describe the on rails particularly with systems like the sega CD and the 3DO would have probably made those consoles a million fold more entertaining. IDK if Rambo would make a good example of this probably not but I don't think this genre is dead but that simple part of it needs to be explored and it will really bring it back in such a way that it may rival other genres in the future

I used to stand in the front lobby of the grocery store and play Dragons Lair(when it first came out) while my mom shopped. God, I loved that game and wanted to see what happened next. I bought a 3DO when it came out and I played Dragons Lair every day for hours on end. Such an incredible game for the time.

OT:
I expected Rambo to suck bad. I am looking forward to a new Fallout 4. Oh the wife will be so mad!!!lol
Right now, I'm addicted to Battlefield 4-PS4 Multi-player(I don't play MP much). The MP is so much fun for me.

I gave $700.00 for it when it came out in 1993. I don't know anything about a 3DO ever costing thousands of dollars. Before that, like I said, I played it in the lobbies of local stores or at the arcades. We had an arcade that looked like a cave; The walls looked like rock and it was very dark, other than the light from the games. That place had a smell that I will never forget. It was almost heavenly. I spent A LOT of money there, as a kid. I was and still am a gamer.

Edit:
I think I had the 3DO in '91-early '92?? Something screwy going on here. I bought it used off a local millionaire business man. I was playing the hell out of some alien game(cannot remember the name of it) and it had real actors in the cut scenes. It was a cool game for the time. Need for speed was awesome and I loved the game 'Return Fire'. I think I had almost every game for it. I was helping building houses at that time so I had some spending money.

Way Of The Warrior....nuff said! That game was awesome. A fighting game with a Rob Zombie sound track and cool fatalities. Best 3DO game ever. I loved it lol.
