Oh, Boy. LOL
My husband is lucky if he can even turn a computer on.
I'm going to have to recruit one of my sons to help me decide.

That is great! I've been wanting to get one, and may at the beginning of the year. But with all the choices, how did you decide which one to get?

I'm not real tech savy. I usually just play around with something, until I get it all figured out.

What do you use it for, what price range and how big do you want the screen.

Perhaps I can offer some advice ..... it's free after all.

Hi guys I'm home.......................I think

You could always ask the guys in the computer help forum CM, tell them what you need it for, give them a budget and see what they say, just a thought.

I bought a Zoostorm (Asus motherboard) never looked back, It's so fast I have to wear my crash helmet when I'm on ATS !!!

I paid £600 for it $960.

but it runs photoshop at top speed and the interwebbythingy is rapid as hell.

Night I was a bad boy
I did work too hard, and my minion wasn't there
I had to do menial work as well

OH
I see whilst typing P came in and offered to help............................P You nearly killed Tez !!!!!

Mostly for editing/burning videos and pictures, but not real technical editing. Mostly like lightening up too dark stuff.
And some writing. That's about it. Still don't even have the internet at home, but getting one may give me the boot to the butt I need.

Larger screen would be better and maybe 400 to 500? Hoping we get a bonus for Christmas this year.

And thank you!

And you to cody, for the recommendation.

I'm just happy with mine

My screen is 500, go as large as you can, I thought I had wide screen HD amazement when I got it, now it seems a bit small even for avatars.

Thinking of putting the flat screen up as a monitor but that's a mere 900 and I still have to convince Mrs C LOL, don't hold your breath.

LOL you should see our chemist's set up. He stole the flat screen tv on the stand from the conference room, took it to his lab cubicle and has his laptop hooked up to it. You can't see him around it, and he likes it that way!
He says it keeps the bosses out of his hair. LOL
But you can read his emails, from across the lab!

The two best brands are Toshiba and ASUS. Both brands are very good.

Toshiba is very pretty.

ASUS is a little more robust if you are going to move it around a lot.

You don't need a lot of horsepower so something in their lower ranges would be fine.

That is my opinion for what it is worth.

I could help further but I would need a price point and country to find a good model.

Your a doll! I'm in the US. I was digging a bit, and Best buy has them, even walmart.
One thing I did notice, you have to pay extra, for the DVD drive? I think I would trust best buy, over wally world to install that for me.

As far as price? I would guess around 500 or 600, but with the DVD in that price, but I can't say 100% yet, cause I don't know for sure if I will get the bonus. Odds are good, but you never know around here.

Best I could find and it comes standard with the DVD drive.

I don't know your market well, but prices seem to be all over the place.

This one is in the $400 range.
