Where am I?
What is this place?
Who is Rod?
How did I get here?
Are kitties allowed?
And dogs?
What about rodents?
Somebody please pass me a cup of coffee and some aspirin please!

Oh, my manners! How do you do? I am AstroRocks. Very pleased to make your acquaintance!
Now about that coffee and aspirin...

The bolt hole
A place to chill in the madness of ATS
Rod is my brother in spirit (he's a bit weird but we love him)
Fate brings good people together
Kitties are fine as long as Rod keeps his stinky one away
Dogs and Dawgs are always welcome
Don't start on the rodents there's a bit of gerbil thing going on in this thread
*Slide*......................................c(_)

Hi Astro

Gerbils you say?
Hmmmm...... that could explain a lot! I've heard a few stories but Don't want to violate any rules by regaling you with them!

Thanks for the cup of Joe and the aspirin mate- truly appreciated! Been feeling sort of punky today!

Last night I was preparing our evening meal in the kitchen, and visiting with the boy. After chatting about the patient with lupus who is fighting off the HIV infestion, we started talking about HIV in Africa, and I pointed out the role that Bayer had played in the spread of HIV in Africa. He was completely unbelieving.

So my mom, who is typically not of a CT mindset, pointed out that Bayer also made the chemicals which were used to exterminate the Jews.

He got a nice shocking eye opener regarding the world he actually lives in. Heartbreaking, in retrospect.

Yeah

My kids went to the extermination camps as part of their 'education' a few years ago.

That was a heartbreaking phone call, how the hell do you explain to your kids the world pretty much turned a blind eye whilst their religion was systematically wiped out for being vermin ?

You can't, you can only tell them you love them, will always be there and share a tear.

The guy that taught me Hebrew was a survivor from Bergan-Belsen I noticed the tattooed number on his arm. I asked him if he would tell me about it.

I was amazed, he said "I was lucky, I got there late" then told me of the horrors he had to endure, no emotion, just matter of fact that's what you had to do to survive, the most important thing in his life was a spoon, "lose your spoon and your as good as dead"

Words that haunt me still

May your boy read this should you so deem it fit

Got me right in the solar plexus with that post bro give your mum a hug from me, she's an astute lady

I kind of feel bad. I am merciless with call center reps. Given that I ran a call center for 10 years, i should readily realize that they are only executing a thin segment of policies that they are authorized for.
