Im not bashing Christianity ElGoobero.

Just recognizing it for what it clearly is.

I am however pointing out that all organized religious practice has a lot to answer for across the globe, including Iran.

Another salient point worth considering is that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all Abrahamic religions.

So same crap slightly different wrapping paper with the same to similar problems and issues to contend with at the end of the day.

Absolutely man we are are the same page here honestly more then we probably have ever been on any topic. People are not equal not at all. But some cultures cut them off at the knee.

Yes the traditional anthropomorphic god really only makes any sense if viewed through the old ancient aliens trope.Beings came down and edited local fauna In their imagine ect. Make sense that slave masters would treat their slaves as such. We love you! But if you disobey it’s the lake of fire. Then you get some kind of Stockholm religion. Not saying that’s the case just a fun thought.

Doesn't even have to be aliens just the ruling elite assuming they have enough time and control. The gods love you but pay your taxes.

To be on topic I guess what we are seeing here in Iran is the governments control mechanism no longer works the way it once did before the free exchange of information. They had control by keeping people in the dark and feeding them a strict diet. Halal if you will. Now that the people can compare how other love with how they live. What other believe what with they believe.

They also get to see the atrocity’s that would normally be buried because of the digital age. No where to run anymore.

What you all fail to realise is Iran is a patriarchal country. When you have fathers, brothers, uncles, willing to kill family members for minor reasons like slighting the family, then you have a recipe for a very lot more killing. They will not give up their position of power.
Why must it be the army? They have their religious police, diehard fanatics that would never hesitate to kill on the slightest excuse that their religion or their religious laws was maligned and they have access to any and all weapons. But more over they have official immunity to do just what they want.

I hope you are right. But when l was in the military felt we were secretly being programmed into it's ok to shoot civilians to defend civil unrest. But yes times have changed.

UN peace keepers would get torn to shreds in this country. Lol

Yes, a lot of people truly believe that.

I think Christianity promoted the notion to kill anyone who does not believe in the one true god not that long ago.

Belief in Allah or any other iteration of God is not the problem.

The problem is organized religious practice taken literally and/or to extremes.

Yes.

And the Dominionist movement is real in America.

So far -- the Constitution has kept it at bay.

But as the Supreme Court becomes more in line with Dominionism -- who knows.

True.

But younger generations are starting to fight this.

Well by my estimation politics and religion go together like oil and water.

Best to keep separate methinks else you end up with a hell of a mess.

Money -- Power -- Control

Religion just adds more to that Control.

Made up?

You support the Iranian regime and their Morality Police (sounds pretty Orwellian, no?)?

Ordinary Iranians seem fairly upset about this.

But you carry on apologising and hand waving about this disgusting nut job fundamentalist authoritarian regime.

What's wrong with you people?

In Iran isn't the government basically the media? and even private companies are subject to censorship.

No matter what the western media says or thinks this is an organic homegrown protest, and it's isn't the first time Iran women have had a dress code protest among other protests. But yea it was the media then too /s

If these protests in Iran are organic homegrown protest why does it have a so called protest leader that was seen and praised by Mike Pompeo ?

I had also heard the same nonsense how the Libyan protests agaisnt gaddafi were just organic homegrown. Never mind these protests getting advanced support.

According to those some in on here who support the NED/NGO US backed Color Revolution in Iran.

-These protests are "organic homegrown" which i am sure they are organic as black lives matter protests were.
