What I can't understand is the virulence of the Obama-bashing, it's only been 6 months.

The only thing I can remember Bush doing in the first 6 months was issuing an executive order sealing the records from his father's administration which were supposed to become public at the time. (Kind of set the whole tone for the next 8 years didn't it.)

Of course, Bush didn't have to do much in the first 6 months, because despite how criticism he recieved from the reactionaries, he left the country in great shape. (Anyone remember the surplus?)

The only reason I can think of for so many people to so virulently attack Mr. Obama so early and so often, is that they are afraid he will set back the conservatives in this country even further than Mr. Bush did.

Yes, I agree he has made mistakes. He, also, has stated that he will not be afraid try new things if what he is doing isn't working. That will be the true test of his character.

To understand the virulence of the Obama-bashing you need only look at the last few years of Bush bashing. The Bush-haters tore away any remaining shred of civility in the political discourse in the country. Have you forgotten the people making movies about Bush's assassination?

Now these same people talk of civility and respect. HA! It will be a cold day you know where when I show any respect to these hyper-partisans or anyone they support.

I think my point was that it is the entire system and set up of civilization....

Like I said, no matter WHO it is, it is just more or less gonna be a different face on the same problem.... so I wanna give the guy a break, and start looking into what I can do in my OWN life as an individual to cut free from the big boys in the first place...

that is why we need to go back to being our OWN leaders etc..... cut the chord..... set ourselves free...... grow our own food, etc, etc, etc.....

Now that Barak is here, I feel proud again.....like Canda being attatched to our American Neighbours and family is something I can be proud of now, instead of sad and ashamed when it was Bush...

Just so you realize, Obama is Bush on steroids. He is doing all of the same things bigger and badder but Obama has a mandate and nobody to stop him. He makes Bush look like a boy scout.

Proud?

Great.

And when I vote next, I will vote for a different face on the problem. If he hadn't lied so much to get in, I would vote for Obama again.

I never meant to imply he did anything great, I mean that he is one hell of a crappy postion that probly NO ONE could do good in, so him, or any other face in his position should be given a break, and we should focus more on our individual power etc....

The more we do THIS, the less and less power they have, and we take things back.

Mabey I should have just said "give the government bashing a break" they are fighting a loosing battle, the system dosen't work and is going to fall, but we can rise above it .... it NEEDS to fall, so let it happen and think about ways to thrive in the wake of things..

It is the system that fails, not ONE individual.

I can agree 250% with your last statement. Question is, are you ready for when it all comes crashing down? We all live in relative safety compared to post governement collapse. I think I would do just fine, maybe I could even advance some of my personal agenda's, and get in a couple vendetta's. How will you fair?

Pretty good I would say.... I have every type of fruit, nut, and veggie, that I like, growing in containers, in the yard, and all over in my favorite camping spots in the area....

Worst case, load up the camper with plants and seeds....best case, sit at home playing cards and cranium, strummin the guitar, singing and talking face to face more..lol...

Either way I think it will be ok for me...............

Not for most though unfortunatly, who are in no way prepared past next week...

So I hear that we should give the POTUS a break because he has been in office for only six months? However, look at his record in the past 6 months; nationalizing the automotive industry, forming czars who are free from congressional oversight, barring FOIA requests regarding white house visits, meddling in the private media (ABC conducts news operations from the oval office walking lock step with the healthcare agenda), giving the terrorists a deadline for US withdrawal from Iraq, quadrupling the national debt, and so on so forth.

Now I can understand a few mistakes here or there but the mistakes mentioned above can have catastrophic affects on the country. He knew that he would be part of the fray while being the president and they call that in military circles the burden of command. If anything goes wrong on his watch he will be held responsible. However it is a shame that the MSM media is not holding his feet to the fire like they've done with past presidents. To question authority is one of our most cherished principles. If the founders didn't question the authority and policies of King George and Parliament we would all still be the lap dogs of England. So I say criticize the man and all his decisions if need be because that is what it is to be free. Some of his policies may be good while others may be bad but at least look at them all with a skeptical eye.

I am very happy that you have food, but you have other things to think of, too. Many people will be out taking what they can from anyone they see. Houses will be burned, stores looted, maybe the roadway will be clogged with cars that have run out of gas, etc.., etc... I am not going to preach about guns or weapons being important. That's a given.

What I think will be important is a network of trustworthy people in your locale or wherever you plan to flee to. The only way we will survive is by being with people who will look out for us and looking out for them.

Give Obama a break? He's lied too many times. Then again, I should have expected it.

Wow, what about the problem Canada is having with Obama's buy American for our infrastructure? From what I have read a lot of Canadians are mad about losing job bids. Anyway for those of a educated bent his rise to power is just to good to be true. A fresh man senator with no experience and some how he become president? No change just the devil we don't know!

Since Obama has been in office for only 6 months we should give him a break?

Starting with day 1 Bush was never given a break in the 8 years of his presidency and the 6 months that has followed.

I fail to see the logic the left leaning has arguing that he has only been in office for 6 months.

All you have to look at is what he has done thus far. His policies are truly radical and they wont work. You can't throw trillions at a problem and expect it to fix itself. His spending is insane. The man is spending us into destitution and now is the time to close the purse. Only spend money when you absolutely need to. I don't mind giving him the benefit of a doubt but come on the last six months have felt like the twilight zone. Trillions of dollars are a lot of money and the MSM uses the word so liberally now that you would think they are talking about millions or billions.

Thankfully there is noway for trillions to just randomly register as no big deal to the majority of the populous.

_______

And as far as giving Obama a break? Nope don't think so. Saw a post earlier said give the government a break, uhhh no because the are the reason we are in this mess.

You can't just ignore problems and hope it goes away, it doesn't work like that. The government/Obama will not be given a break, everybody that didn't vote for him asked the question, "What Change?" and nobody could give us an answer. So then we had to start speculating about what change, and we were demonized and hated for calling him a socialist.

Well the blinders have been lifted and there is noway to deny that at minimum he is a socialist. His cheerleaders, aka MSM, doesn't even try to deny that anymore they just simply act like it doesn't exist.

The problem is the people that should be doing their jobs aren't doing their jobs and the people are doing exactly what they should be doing putting pressure on the government.

Bush was bashed and now the left has to reap what has been sown. Don't like it? Well the genie is out the bottle now.

What is the saying that liberals liked to tout? Deal With it? Yea that was it, so my advice is:

Deal With It.
