I personally don't care what the color, gender or sexual orientation is of the good Doctor, what I miss is the stellar writing.

Dr. Who used to be scary, whimsical, amusing. If there was a message written into the script it was done with talent and panache.

When I watch a program, I want to be entertained, not preached to.

Certainly much of DW writing hasn't been the greatest. And that's part of the appeal. It's a campy sort of show. With a message of inclusiveness. For a long time now.

I don't give a rats backend if someone is gay or black.
What I care about is the woke agenda being shoved down my throat.
Jodie Whittaker just plain sucked.
And this guy, who checks all the woke boxes, is out making
waves about white people. Its in the opening post.
HE has ruined watching it.
I can't see the character when I look at him.
I just see a DEI hire who hates on white people.
Totally screws up watching the saw.

Now it's impossible to watch Dr. Who, no matter how good of an actor he may or may not be.
All I see is a woke propagandist whining about white people.
Can't see 'The Doctor' at all.

Same kind of thing goes for Mark Ruffalo and the Incredible Hulk.
When watching an Avengers movie and the hulk shows up, I don't see
'the Hulk'. I see an actor who spouts antisemitic crap and who wears
the bloody palm pin which celebrates the bloody murder of two Jews
by 'palestinians' who held up their bloody hands for a mob of Muslims
to celebrate over.

Totally screws over being able to watch the show.

The actors can say what they want of course. Free speech. But there
are consequences and one of those consequences is that it turns
viewers OFF.

I saw the writing on the wall with Jack Harkness. Early example of "put a chick in it and make her lame and gay". Just trying to add an artifical edge to a character that was already interesting enough. And for what reason? To push some agenda that isn't even really interesting but just a distraction. Lazy in my opinion. In Torchwood they even put in gay sex scenes. Fine if you want to only appeal to a minute part of society but if you want broad mainstream appeal you gotta wonder-whatcha doing? and why? Dr. Who isn't alone. Star Trek, Star Wars ond James Bond are also infected by this trend. Rebel Moon is at least new. Nobody is going to watch it either but at least they didn't destroy an existing property with their woke garbage agenda.

There’s a difference between understanding different strokes for different folks and live and let live vs being preachy and condemning.

Jack Harkness was a great character and the Torchwood spinoff was good as well. Didn't mind Martha Jones so the Gay/Black isn't the issue it is more the mediocre content that is the issue. I said in my earlier post, I wasn't enthralled in the Christmas special but I will give it a few episodes to see how he grows on me.
I wasn't keen on Matt Smith but he grew on me but part of that was probably down to some decent writing which is something we haven't seen for a while with Dr Who.

So here is the white mediocrity comment.

After rejecting the pressure of aspiring to "Black excellence" to feel loved, he said, "What the hell? There’s so much [W]hite mediocrity that gets celebrated, and Black people, we have to be absolutely flawless to get half of [that] anyway. So, I’m slowly training myself out of that and being like, ‘No sh--. You deserve love just for existing.’"

Reading this. And this is his opinion. He feels like he has to work twice as hard to get half of the recognition because of the color of his skin. And is very tired of it.

Now you can be butt hurt about that statement all you want and not watch the show. But you know very well that minorities are treated like crap. And being a gay minority means that you get double the crap. Who knows how much bigotry and racism that he's had to endure.
