The DOE retroactively revoked it when they found out they didn’t do it on the day Trump was no longer president.
As far as Trump knew, his Q clearance was still good.

The DOE has a specific Q clearance which is distinct from the DOD clearance.
DOE clearances apply for access specifically relating to atomic or nuclear related materials.

Article 2 of the constitution lays out the ‘executive power.’
The president is the only person vested with it.

Why President Trump Can Share Classified Information If He Wants

A concise explanation of what’s going on can be found in this 1974 Indiana Law Journal article about executive power and national security, by Charles R. Nesson:

“Technically any official has authority to declassify any information classified by people subordinate to him. Thus when the President speaks, whether to the nation, to a reporter in private, or to a friend over cocktails, he automatically declassifies as he goes. There is no procedure, no paperwork. The same is true for other officials so long as they do not stray from the pyramids of classified information which have been generated beneath them.”

This was more or less the universal understanding before the media and deep state started shifting the narrative. The only legal argument that has been used to refute it has been a ruling that specifies a subordinate agency must use their agency process to classify/declassify, but that would not apply to the Commander in Chief as he is the Original Classification Authority.

Every year, I have to take training from DoD that says this very clearly. I'm not sure why it's so muddled out there in the media.

The converse argument is the easiest way to understand this. Nobody disagrees that the president is the Original Classification Authority. In other words nobody claims that the president needs permission to classify something. This means that he and he alone can determine whether something is classified or unclassified. That would not be possible if he had to ask permission for either. Only the silly news cycle of the last 4 years has made it an issue.

This is what we all knew and it is good it is coming to light. This has always been the reason to push this case. Just like the others he is involved in, it is about getting a 'trial' .

Another good decision from a rare PRO-Trump judge in America. The "Classified Documents" trial will probably not be held this year (or ever!).

Judge Aileen Cannon has handed another reprieve to Donald Trump in his Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

The case was expected to be one of Trump’s first criminal trials to go to court, but any trial date now appears to be up in the air after Cannon on Monday ordered a stay on Trump’s legal requirement to give the government advance notice of which classified materials will be discussed. But the stay—which is described as temporary—also has no set expiration date.

Legal analysts have worried that a strategy of continual delays could be the Trump-appointed judge’s way of surreptitiously dismissing the trial altogether.

“This case was set for trial on May 20, which obviously won’t happen,” wrote MSNBC legal analyst and former U.S. attorney Joyce Vance. “It should have been ready to try by the end of last year. Extending the 5(a) deadlines indefinitely is the same thing as giving Trump an indefinite trial delay.”
