So true...but would that not mean for 2,000 years, everyone living shoulda disregarded Revelations as nothing to worry bout now...and any signs in their times?
Or should they not have looked for them...disregarded its meaning and intent for them... as you say.. because it wasnt their time? Didnt have all the "stuff"?
Is now the time? Are you sure? Can we ever be sure? They werent. But, Im sure it was designed that way.
Once I did try and figure out the signs in Revelations.
Revelations is barely canon & is ignored in the oldest Christian church on earth . Eastern Orthodox don’t deal with revelations as it is wholly accepted that it has nothing to do with the future & eschatology is only a modern thing used by evangelicals as doom porn

People always take this verse out of context. The Bible says you can't know the day or the hour. I didn't say this was happening on November 17th at 5 P.M.
The Bible tells us over and over again we as Christians should be aware of the signs of the times. In Matthew 24, the Apostles asked Jesus what would be the sign of thy coming. Jesus didn't say you can't know the day or the hour, he told them what to look for.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
He then said this:
Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
The fig tree nation is Israel which became a nation in 1948 and 2028 will be 80 years since then.
He then said:
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Jesus was making the comparison to a Galilean wedding. The Groom would be promised to a Bride then would leave. The Father of the Groom would send the Groom(Jesus) back to the Bride(Church) in a day and hour only the Father of the Groom would know.
People have to stop taking this verse out of context. This doesn't mean that Christians will be oblivious to the signs of His return. In fact, the Bible says just the opposite. Jesus gave parables of Brides and servants not being ready for His return.
The Bible says:
Luke 21:34 “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.”
Jesus said the Pharisees couldn't discern the signs of the times.
Matthew 16:3 “And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”
Do you think the Bible tells us all of these things about the end times so we will not be aware of the signs of the times?

Im not Orthodox , but do know that the bible is a book with a horrible god in it’s Old Testament. Do you believe Vedic or Muslim prophecies , because they are in ancient tomes ?

Then read the Old Testament version...the book of Zechariah. It too summarizes what will happen in the end, or is that book ignored by the Eastern Orthodox too ?

Prophecies are for people who can’t accept reality.
I have a degree in patristics. You will have to look that up .

What I know is that you don't know the Bible or religion and why they are different.
You are making no sense whatsoever. You are so off based on the patristic commentary on Revelations !

I didn't mention Eschatology and that only goes back to the mid 19th Century .
A lot younger than Revelation, which is what I posted about.
And the topic of the thread is Revelation.
Least you forget.
