Who is going to convince these people that we already live in a socialist laden society? Medicare and Medicaid? Socialism. Public schools? Socialism.
Unemployment insurance? Socialism. Farm subsidies? Socialism. The military? Socialism. The police? Socialism. Fire Departments? Socialism.

We, in the USA, seeking "a more perfect union" have employed a mixed economy, as have nearly all developed economies. We're not pure capitalist. We're not a socialist country either. Corporations whose stock holders own shares of the company are not communist.

In my opinion,extreme socialism leads to communism.I am not
an expert on socialism,but I am an outspoken mama on the net.

If you feel like you are surrounded by idiots, maybe you attracted them in the first place. I've heard people seek their own level.

Pure socialism is when the people own everything, including private property. Pure communism is when the government owns everything, and there is no such thing as private property. One thing is NOT like the other.

I've always found that it's only socialism if your hand isn't in the pot.

But if you benefit, well, the tune is changed.

I don't know anyone who returned their Trump check or their Biden check. NOT ONE.

Do you oppose all socialism in our culture, or just some of it? If so, what programs would you get rid of or privatize, public schools, health care and the social safety net, the military/law enforcement?

Most say Canada is a socialist country. We are in a lot of ways, but one things for sure, the People don't run # here.

Socialism is good in certain areas of society. National Defense for one. Medical and Income safety-nets as another.

Socialism doesn't guarantee anything to the common people.

Of course it is. It's a federal program funded by tax payer dollars, no different than public schools and the police.

Cuba went full on communistic dictatorship. Democracy and capitalism do guarantee something, when using socialism as a tool to mitigate some sort of bottom line of equality.
