Remembering John Lennon on 35th Assassination Anniversary

Almost 35 years ago today, John Lennon was assassinated. And we still haven't taken his advice. Isn't it time we give peace a chance? Today on #OffTheGrid, I discuss how the Beatle inspires constitutional attorney and Rutherford Institute founder, John W. Whitehead, to fight for his own revolution in this country. Do you think it's time for a revolution?

John wasn't a perfect person and had his own personal demons, but the message he believed in and fought for was righteous. His message and cause may have been what he died for as well.

Great sentiments, Jesse. But in order for peace to be "sustainable", it must be more profitable than the spoils of war.

I think John would be pissed annoyed that his words would be used in this manner.

It's a pity peace is a pipe dream.

RIP Mr. Lennon. 'Working Class Hero', along with 'Masters Of War' by Bob Dylan are two of the most powerful songs ever written IMHO.

Heres to World Peace or at least for now, the plight of all people currently being genocided off their locale/country on the world map!

My father played in the Cavern in Liverpool and knew the beatles since he was a child. My father created the first basement music club called the "Pillar Club". My Aunts boyfriend was Rory Best and his brother Pete Best was the original beatles drummer and thought the club was great and then built his own in his moms basement down the street. The real Cavern is across the street from the tourist one. Another Aunt was good friends with John and ate lunch with him everyday while in Art University. She became an Art Proffessor and he quit to play in some band. He made a painting of Jesus on the cross and underneath wrote "What a way to spend Easter" . They also acted in a stage play where they searched for Cindarella not with a glass slipper but with a pair of knickers (underware).

Not everybody thought John a saint, in fact a great many, even the hippie persuasion, thought him a socialist and a much of the reason for the Beatles breaking up. Oh no Yoko..... and all.

Paul McCartney was wholesome, George Harrison was god conscious, and Ringo was always bringing the loadies home, designated driver as it were. So where did that leave John........ Him and Yoko were a wedge, it was time to move on.
