OK, so I'm not one to post you tube videos, usually. But I saw a link to this on the Dark Matters (Don Ecker's) facebook page and thought it was interesting. I have no idea what it could be so I'll just throw it our here for some thoughts or suggestions. The title of the post is the youtube name, not my belief of what this is...

It is a pleasure to share my latest sighting of what appears to be a Triangular UFO hovering/descending towards the Lunar surface. This footage was taken using a 150mm/1400mm reflector telescope, from the vantage point of my backyard in Taylors Hill, Victoria, Australia.

and the original unzoomed version...

I wonder if it could be one of "our" lunar satellites that caught the sun's rays as it orbits around the moon, not actutally, but appearing to land.

Just my 2 cents.

A sunlit lunar peak. Often, very often, seen near the terminator. Often mistaken for something out of the ordinary.

Hey OP don't get out much do you? Debunked in 2012.

Any lunar experts able to determine where this happened?

Not a chance, much too high for that to be what this is.

Follow the curvature of the surface and you'll see it can't be.

Awesome this probably one of the best footage i've seen yet .

The truth will come out , the governments will never come out and say it they will just play dumb to try not to shake public confidence with this b.s. they are with holding from us . at some point there will be overwhelming evidence made by people like this sky watcher.

pretty cool video...definitely dont feel anything is faked...at first i thought it wasnt moving and was maybe a reflection in the background that was constant but I think it is indeed moving/descending....I am by no means an expert on anything though and open to any interpretation...my extent of orbital physics goes as far as the video game kerbal space program haha...which is a great game!

I don't know where you get "high" from. But it is tall.
It's a mountain peak. Anyone who has ever seen the Moon through a telescope has seen them. Exactly as seen in the video.

Actually, although I usually disagree with Phage, the movement is coherent with the rest of the surface, and in particular with all the craters.

Keep in mind that we are looking at a moon that's spinning from right to left and as soon as the peak reaches the satellite's horizon it disappears...much like a mountain would...

I'm certainly no Lunar expert, but my best guess would be.............
the moon?

ya that video of the peak could be it..and maybe there were more environmental factors making it reflective that day....still a cool video.

If this was an object above the surface and it was keeping a geostationary orbit, it would move relative to a fixed position on the moon wouldn't it.

I've seen many high (or for phage - tall) peaks with lit tops that appear as bright spots in the dark area across the terminator...this looked to me to be too high to be a tall peak, and appears to me to be an object in a fixed orbit instead.

Can't prove it either way though, but that is the impression i get.

Well here seems to be the original where he isn't sure what it is and even entertains the idea of it being a star...

Make of it what you will...

That gives a better perspective. I agree it's not a mountain peak.
I'll go with a star being occulted.

Two video's don't exist Phage, and the other one is about crime rates. I was thinking the same as you, but I've not noticed the starlike shimmer before, and while there can be atmospheric shimmer, it's usually the whole scene, so I'm not sure what that is.
