It isn't about a persons 'ATS cred' it's about facts and DETAILS.

Fuzzy accounts of very little information does nothing for validating seeing something ''odd''.

It could be easily explained as a non UFO which is the point of the questions.

This sort of clique mentality on ATS is it's downfall, 82 flags for a thread called a ''HUGE event'' that no one else in MO seen or reported so far and not even a sketch of the ''HUGE event'' that mentions seeing a ''UFO''.

Maybe you believe anything you hear or trust in those you don't know at all, but I do not and nor do many others, IMO it's entirely LOGICAL to QUESTION something to get the facts.

ETA for the record there are thousands of corrupt people including politicians that are termed ''long term members of good standing'', I still wouldn't buy their snake oil.

Apparently you confuse the statements "address the claim on its merits" and "pics or it didn't happen."

Except for this specific forum where facts are not expected so I wouldn't ask for them here. I learned my lesson so now I am just trying to see what we can find out from the impression the OP gave of whatever scenario she saw.

Right now the facts seem to indicate a Military exercise but it could have been something abnormal their really isn't enough info to say either way yet.

Ok, had a bit more time to explain more clearly.

I think antar has seen some jets.
Most everything else may have been an internal comprehension and confusion about how/what then occurred, this I think is not due to antar being insane or loopy, rather that it was a medical condition and it fits as best as I can assertain.

The booms may have been a sonic boom from the jet, or even just flying very low over her remote location, it is sudden and very loud when these things go over. That would jolt most people to a "holy swashbucklers, what the frig was that???" response.
An alarmed and frightened antar panics and races outside causing distress to her cardiac system.

At this point, something is wobbling and planes are racing in towards it. This seems a highly risky jet response, to race in towards an unkown object, hence I believe this was the first noticable symptom of an episode of Syncope, (fainting, blackout).
What antar is likely seeing qobbling is 'seeing spots', or a blob that would be confusing, especially with the jets whizzing about. It may have appeared as a dark spot at first, large in her vision compared to the size of jets.
As the blood flow is limited to her brain and the fainting/blackout event builds, her brain becomes confused, hearing sounds muffled or that don't make sense, also her outer circle of vision becomes a 'darkened halo' such as seen in this image.

Certainly seems likely, especially considering the relative lack of any concrete corrobaration to events from others in the area.

Antar might have either fully passed out, lying staring straight at the sun (causing a burn), or alternatively just avoided a full black out and staggered inside while her brain tried to make sense of what was going on. Syncope can have many triggers so I'd suggest what others have and go get checked over at the docs and take care.

Hope this helps make sense of a very confusing situation!

Symptoms

Commonly, there are symptoms that precede the fainting spell. These symptoms may include:

Dizziness
Blurred vision
A sense of “tunnel vision”
“Seeing spots”
Changes in hearing

Syncope (Fainting)

further.

The person may feel lightheaded, nauseated, sweaty, or weak. There may be a feeling of dizziness or vertigo (with the room spinning), vision may fade or blur, and there may be muffled hearing and tingling sensations in the body.
With pre-syncope or a near-faint, the same symptoms will occur, but the person doesn't quite lose consciousness.

Tingling sensations may also explain her face feeling 'burnt'. So, this massive world changing event may have in fact been a very real and very personal event endured by antar alone which does not reflect on her standing in the community negatively, rather an interesting case study.

Hello all. First time poster here. Read this thread and had to share...

We have had a rash incidents here locally in and around Douglas, Georgia involving loud "booms" to the extent rattling windows and shaking the ground ect. The MOST recent being this past Friday 01/31/14. There have been a minimum 7 threads started regarding the such as early as April 2010. I will give a few links to threads started in order of most recent...

www.topix.com... January 31st 2014

www.topix.com... December 31st 2014 (correlation?)

www.topix.com... December 23rd 2012

www.topix.com... March 15th 2012

www.topix.com... April 10th 2012

www.topix.com... April 29th 2011

The dates were date of the op's original post. There are multiple reports spanning multiple dates throughout some threads.
All these threads were started in a small farm town; population < 30k. Being a farm town we use dynamite, sound cannons and of course tannerite. That being said most of us know the particular sound and concussive attributes associated with said methods. These reports are loud enough to set off car alarms and literally shake the ground beneath you leading some to believe they were experiencing miniature "quakes". These booms span many miles throughout our city, county and surrounding towns; simultaneously. Imagine a concussive force that feels as if it literally sucks the air from your lungs. That's what I experienced personally. Whatever it is...it's BIG!

Hopefully I didn't bore you all to much. Thanks guys and gals.

(DISCLAIMER): I apologize in advance for the lack of class you may experience while viewing rednecks argue.

I guess the question then becomes, does this look like the sun halo that Antar saw?

(And Lebanon, is NE of Springfield.)

Wrong.

Apparently you are confusing ''belief sans question'' with ''lets get some details to establish facts''.

People expect more detail and facts, even if you don't.

ETA I never even mentioned ''pics or it didn't happen'' but was attacked for SUGGESTING that DETAILS should be given.

This post is so similiar to the one a few weeks back with our friend over in Oxfordshire U.K.
With respect to Antar , I cant Imagine the average person, especially one that has gone thru the trouble of building a reputation here , fabricating such an extraordinary event. I live near oceana naval air station in Va. beach, where the fighter planes fly over all the time. Its such a common day to day thing that I unintentionally block it out.
I think if we all just have some patience here , my gut feeling is , 2014 is going to be the year to reveal the answers to which we all have been so obsessed for .
But then again thats just my gut. This being the grey area I would like to leave my reasons Grey, For right now.

Also, as has been well established, Antar is a long time member in good standing here.

Perhaps next time instead of criticizing the OP's character we can address the claims on their merit??

"Pics or it didn't happen" is freaking lame

I am not about to claim the OP did not see what she described. I do wonder what your opinion is, that when I Search "Feb 3, 2014 booms Missouri" and "Feb 3, 2014 UFO Missouri" the only link I can find related to this, is a link to this thread.

I am not making any assumptions that she fabricated this, or misinterpreted her sensory input, or not. But 20+ pages of 'did she or didn't she' and I'm moving on. Just wondered what explanation there could be if her account is spot on, yet Internet searches return absolutely no other hits but hers. What does it mean?

Thanks, I'll check back.

The thread wasn't in Gray area originally and it's claims are very sensational, furthermore I suggested DETAILS in order for establishing FACTS.

LOGICAL PROCESS OF ELIMINATION.

Were there planes seen? Check

Are there military bases near? Check

Is there a possibility it was a military exercise? Check

Are there a whole load of misidentified 'UFO' that are actually planes? Check

Should we ask for more information to get to the FACTS? Check

You are not too far from Fort Leonard Wood. Hence, the jets.

I used to live near Whiteman, sometimes it seems intense living near all that flying.

The flags are like voting. We are all voting on this thread being worthy of our attention.

I jumped onto this thread for several reasons. I know the area, the types of Military activity, the people of the area, I have seen some high strangeness myself there, and the fact that Antar is the witness. I don't see a clique.

Interesting I drove through Missouri last week, and I do remember "hearing" a lot of jet aircraft sounds out in the rural areas along I 70 ... The weird thing was is that it was cloudy, very cloudy. There was nothing to see. I did at one stop ask another driver if he could hear it and he said yes, and asked me what it was as if I would know.

Odd stuff happens, inexplicable. and most often with little or no proof.

Unfortunately if you're going public with something like this, just wanting to believe may be enough for some people (the bible proves that point) others need/demand proof.

I have seen and heard many things over the years traveling this country, and I have chosen to remain silent about those things I can't offer any evidence of. Things can happen so fast that you don't have time to even grab your phone/camera before it is gone.

It all comes down to credibility and gullibility in the end... Is the witness credible? are the people gullible enough to believe the case without substantive evidence and corroborating testimony?

I have no desire to take the thread off topic by arguing with you.
You may not agree, but many here take the OP at her word.

The question then becomes "what was it". Or in other words, "let's get some details to establish facts".

To just jump on someone demanding "pics or it did not happen" is foolish. DID NOT happen?
Sounds like a declaration from the almighty himself.

Good day.

I think of flags another way.

I wouldn't flag something if it could be misleading as it gives a false sense of trust and emphasis on suspect threads.

I have seen UFO, I went through years of questioning the things I have seen and I know that I have discounted any non UFO possibilities before realising the true nature of the things I have seen.

As such any reports suggesting UFO are of interest to me as long as they aren't disillusioned or hoaxes etc, hence the necessity of determining the details.

Im curious as to why this phenomena is taking place in so many places lately with no real explanation other than "frost quakes" from Ontario

As for the jets practicing, there is really no such thing as a dogfight anymore. In air to air combat these days, with all the satellite tech, gps, radar, and computers, enemy planes will be taken out from miles away, long before they even see each other.

When I called and talked to one of the area newspapers, he claimed that the AF does still train that style of fighting. I cannot confirm this, as its just hearsay, but maybe one of our resident experts can comment on this.
