Former US agent Edward Snowden is in the running to become the newly-elected rector at Glasgow University. Former CIA agent Snowden, who leaked intelligence about US and UK surveillance methods, will be up against number of other candidates in the election for student rector.




It added: "We are proud to announce that Edward Snowden, the whistleblower who revealed the extent of US and UK Government surveillance of all its citizens, and who is now fleeing the wrath of those he has exposed, has agreed to stand as a candidate in the election for student rector at Glasgow University.

This will annoy the US Government no end. I think it's great move and let's the UK Gov know that people are backing this guy and watching exactly what is happening regarding our right's.

Coming out of 'hiding' already? Is his pride overwhelming his reason?


This will annoy the US Government no end.

Might make them happy, now they know where to find him.

Snatch and grab or an "accident", maybe.

If I was Snowden, I would stay in Deep Coverrr for a longer while.

He may be certain, but like I said there is no demographic that indulges more fervently in a bit of mass non-conformity (deliberate oxymoron to make the point) than students.
