Pretty wild eh? There's a short video clip that shows it's barely a trickle. I've never seen that in my entire life.

Wow what a year. This will go nicely with the snow on Cairo picture and others that show how cold it is this year.

The video doesn't even look real. Very odd looking and I'm not saying it isn't.

Here are some more photos that someone linked to on FB. Amazing and beautiful pics - they also had flood warnings the other day due to ice jams on the river. This weekend they are calling for near 50 degrees and more flooding...crazy weather this year!

Evening,

Niagara freezes like this every year...it's not some sign that our planet is dying as many would like to infer.
Yes, it's pretty but that's just winter in Canada.

Aren't you being a bit dramatic? Who said anything about the planet dying?

It's amazing how such a massive flow like Niagara Falls could freeze up like that.

Here's some cool pictures of the beautiful frozen falls over the years:

Niagara 1890

Niagara 1911

Niagara 1933

Niagara 1936

Niagara 2008

Niagara 2012

Wow !

That picture is not in Egypt, but in Japan.
It's a real photo, but it's kind of hoaxing people.

Those are some spectacular pictures of Niagara Falls frozen over the last century.

It is amazing how the ice has frozen in some ways to create the optical illusion that the water is still flowing (at least in picture form).

1936 looked real cold in comparison to me.

I hate to be the guy that goes off topic but it is very apparent that the sphyx has been altered over the years in the head part of the sculpture. The head is completely disproportionate to the body. I wonder what it used to be? I am sure I am not the first to see this.

Ah, no, didn't know that the Sphinx/snow pic was fake, but should have if I'd looked closer. Thanks, I just happened to copy it onto my computer and will now happily delete it.

And those are great pics a few posts ago, frozen falls. And since Niagara Falls is the topic, may I recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it the wonderful TV series "WonderFalls". Six thumbs up on that one.

It freezes like this every year. And they have nightime light shows against the frozen falls.

I have spent more than a few years visiting them in winter when they freeze. Its normal.

Dope pic! I would love to see that in person. I hope it doesn't get that cold again, cus it was freezing for those few days of the "Polar Vortex"
