Delaware spent a total of 4 million dollars building their exchange. So imagine their surprise when only 4 people showed up at their party? And they had an entire month to do so also. This brings the costs so far to about a million per enrollee.

Come on now, could anyone have seen this coming? I knew the numbers would be low, but in a state with a population of 917,092 you would think there would have to be more. I mean how many people in Delaware got drunk and got tattoos that month? You mean to tell me that not one of those drunks made it to the exchange website? Even if by accident, or a dare?

"More than a month after the launch of Delaware’s health insurance exchange, officials report only four Delawareans enrolled for insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. As of Tuesday, Delaware’s marketplace guide organizations reported four enrollments, 31 enrollment applications completed and 218 accounts created for possible enrollment. Four community organizations were hired to provide marketplace guides, using a $4 million federal grant."

This is one example of many where the theft and crony corruption is rampant.

But remember too, the sites are having trouble.

When all is fixed (imo, they can never be fixed), they will sign up at least 6 more.

Of course they didn't, i would sooner get a tattoo on a dare
then i would sign up for that nightmare. The tattoo would
be easier to get rid of should i change my mind.....

I went just to see what my rate would be, its really sad that
someone somewhere thinks that is affordable.

I was about to say that probably only 4 people were able to register because all of the errors, but I see that Delaware was one of the states that opted for their own exchange...

Well maybe people are procrastinating.

It was practically impossible to sign up for Obama-Care in Delaware... Hell Minnesota already has over 31 thousand people signed up.

I really doubt it was because only four people wanted it haha

By the way first post

Hey there, welcome!

Well maybe they spent too little? Oh wait, I know! The journalists in the state of Delaware didn't get their Obamacare reporting classes yet. Oh I kid you not. Entirely against all journalistic rules. Journalists will now be getting classes on how to report on Obamacare. This administration does so much wrong there is no way I could report everything in a new thread. Groan...

You are welcome to the story. Just do a Google search for it.

I would simply like to know how many PAYING sign ups they have
had in every state. I would bet the majority of those signing up
in the beginning will be those who qualify for Medicare or Medicaid
under the expansions. I say this because there are many in my
position of simply having to not sign up due to the cost being
so high and also not qualifying for a subsidy at all.

Affordable care would be nice but its still just a pipe dream to
many of us.

Oh I can answer this off the top of my head, well concerning the Medicaid. Approx 90% of all of the people signing up are for Medicaid. And of course the first day total number for the healthcare.gov site was 6. the second day was like around 248? The remainder of the days are being reported by the Obama administration as, "abysmally low". There does that help? LOL...

Well if by help you mean make me even more sad then
sure does lol its almost as if this is a really bad practical
joke. Unfortunately somehow some folks believe this
is going to help. Not sure how increasing the cost of
healthcare even more and then forcing everyone to
buy it or a pay fine helps but it sure looks like we will
all find out.

Greetings from Delaware!

So four people here signed up? And it cost four million to get them signed up.
It would have made more sense just to write those four people checks for a
million dollars each.

Side note - considering that Joe Biden lives here ...the failure here is pretty funny!!
