Those are really amazingly beautiful pictures, awesome but very frightening at the same time.

You don't want to get too close to them either for the heat factor or the spewing debris flying through the air. I saw a video a couple of years ago of someone in a boat who suddenly realized the danger he was in. Did he ever hightail it out of there. Thanks for sharing.

Great videos and pictures. I've always wondered how powerfull the eruptions that we see underwater would be if they were above water. Is it possible that the water pressure is so great, that what we see as "small" eruptions underwater could be St. Helens sized if they were above water. Maybe the only thing keeping them down is water pressure.
