Picking up a link using a Mac

For some reason I cannot seem to pick up links. I have tried.

Please could someone explain how to do it. I know irritingly there is something simple I am not doing right.

What do you mean "picking up on links"?

I'm on a Mac, running Safari 6.0.5 and haven't had any problems either clicking on links or including them in a post.
