How in the world does DHS outgoing head Janet Napolitano have any clue we are about to have an unprecedented natural disaster? Is this more evidence of rigged weather or will there be some nuclear accident? What the heck is she talking about?

I can understand that cyber attack thing. Someone's always doing that crap, but natural disaster? I'd love to hear any more news on this.

Is she just covering her bases or is she giving us a warning?

I wish I had one sliver of insight to throw out there. It is a curious thing to say... a huge natural disaster is coming... I mean what are the implications of that? Either you know one is coming because you know precisely what it is, and you are therefore culpable for not sharing your information, or you don't know at all and you are just throwing out bad vibes for no real reason.

It is like leaving your friend's house one night and saying, "I bid you farewell. One of you may likely die this year." It doesn't provide any useful information, because bad things happen regularly, and it makes people uncomfortable for no good reason at all.

I would expect nothing less from the aparent subhumans that lord over us.

There is a natural disaster coming but if you stack up on food and water you are an enemy of the state.

Another one jumping off the sinking ship.

With so many positions unfilled there is no one to blame when TSHTF

I got a few paragraphs in to the article, and I admit I stopped reading the paranoid diatribe. I am so sick & tired of the government insisting everyone and everything is a horrid threat to the country. So. sick. of it. I am at the point where reading her "warnings" in the article made me want to throttle her. It's a very effective way to try to persuade the public they need to be fearful of something, but holy goddamn crap, aren't people getting tired of being huddled in the proverbial corner, fearing every single thing we're told? What they fail to tell us we need to be afraid of is them, obviously. There's disaster prep, which is not a problem. Everyone should have an emergency kit on hand, because you simply never know when a hurricane, or mother of all blizzards, or mass power failure, etc will happen. But making it sound like it's the unholiest thing ever coming straight for us? That's just gunning to make a population meek, fearful & overly dependent on you for "protection (but we knew that)

Some well known remote viewers like Ed Dames are saying a solar 'Kill Shot' could be in the works soon (this fall or early next year). That said, I'm not convinced, although there is always a very slim possibility.

Yeh, and some well known remote viewers said they couldn't see anything after 2012 as they pushed the Dec 21, 2012 hype and made a ton of money off of books and conventions. Ooooops, not end of the world, no ascention... guess Wilcock et al will have to come up with a new gimmick.

This is just what I was thinking, and if they know there is a meteor headed our way, then they might also have a fair to accurate idea of where it might strike. Let's focus attention for a second on recent reports of preparations in FEMA region 3, from Washington DC to West Virginia...I know, I know, I'm clutching at straws maybe, but I'm struggling to think of any other natural disaster that they could possibly know about in advance, and unprecedented to boot. So, barring a New Madrid 9 pointer, or a Pacific north west event, either eq or volcano, or maybe Yellowstone.....what else haven't we experienced that they would know about?

I think people in general are too preoccupied with all of this disaster stuff, is it going to be the ice melting, is it going to be a meteor, is it going to be middle east b/s

Are we forgetting we are going to die from one thing or another.
Are we forgetting we have short life spans in relation to time universe wise that is.
What is the problem??? go and try and find some happiness while you can, worrying about disasters wont prevent them, if they come they come. until they do, if you live long enough to see them, try and enjoy LIFE..

It's a big assumption that we're not enjoying life because we are a little aware and prepared...nothing at all wrong with that. If there are warnings out there of any kind, it would be very foolish to ignore them completely. I'm a very happy person, and have a lovely life, but it doesn't stop me watching for potential problems too. I've had a very intense feeling for a long time that we are facing two events almost simultaneously..one "natural" and one manmade, maybe economic or political. I find what she said very curious.

Since the DHS was set up, we've had a few natural disasters but nothing super bad. I'm thinking in a group that tries to prepare for disasters, they are simply thinking ahead that eventually some city or some part of the country will experience a much larger earthquake and/ or more severe hurricanes. More people live along coastlines and I believe in spite of a few people preparing for disasters, most Americans are buying into the entitlement idea where they expect the government to provide for all their needs.

I say this because I doubt this idea of healthcare for almost everyone would have passed if a majority of people didn't believe our government should provide for everyone. It sounds like a recipe for a great natural disaster relying on the government especially when our government has less and less resources but the people still expect to be provided for. Then our Supreme court justices basically ruled our government has a right to tax us to death to be able to pay for everything. It's a recipe for a great disaster. Long before there was any DHS, people and communities used to prepare and take care of themselves before the mentality changed. Now most expect national government assistance instead of just local or state assistance.

Example 1. People in California plan to build tall structures right on a major fault. If they survive, they expect national assistance.
Example 2. Some people build homes right along the beach where hurricanes hit every so often. If a major storm wipes out their community, they expect help and probably not just from insurance if they even bought it.
The list could go on and on.

This is a little scary whether she is fear mongering or not, it's not something you ever want to hear someone in her position say!
