Today I was having a rather mundane day at work. All of my jobs were spread out, so I spent a lot of time on the freeway. I wasn't in a bad mood, but just kind of going through the motions without caring.

I was listening to the local 'classic rock' station and a Beatles song came on - in fact it was my favorite Beatles song. It instantly put me in a happy mood, which remained for the rest of the day. It's amazing what music can do for your soul. =]

Do you have a favorite Beatles song? If so post it here, I promise I'll listen. =]

Maybe this thread can do for someone what A Day in the Life did for me today.

ETA: You can't have TWO favorites!

Hey, Peanut. If I can only pick one pick-me up Beatles tune, it'd probably have to be

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (the title is spelled wrong on the youtube link. that uploader is NOT a true Beatles fan!)

This thread deserves about 30 flags, but I'm just not sure you have that kind of ATS street cred.

How can you pick just one? I can't do that. I'd have to pick my favorites from each of their different major evolutions. From their early days I'd say Paperback Writer, no, Rain, no, Hold Me Tight. No, never mind, I can't nail any one song down as a favorite.

I know, it's a challenge... But you have to pick just one! All of those are great choices, especially Paperback Writer. Post the ONE you want to share. =]

I know. I'm just not cool enough to post a thread about nothing, really, and get a ton of 'ups' for it. Oh well. I'm not here for the flagrace!

I don't have a favorite Beatles song as such (more like 20), apparently I'm only allowed one

So I thought I'd go with something a little different...

You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)
enjoy...

Howdy

The Beatles always cheer me up when I'm down. If I have to choose just one, it would be this one...Long long long...I love the lyrics...
The sound may not be grand...

I really enjoy so many of their songs, but this one is one of my favorites

Enjoy

This is a wonderful thread. Paul McCartney actually just came through town, but we didn't have the money to see him. Our cousin went and saw him and said it was amazing! He said it was one of the best concerts he has ever been to. ahh well that I missed it...

Peace and love to you

It's amazing what music can do for your soul.
Amen to that, brother (or sister).

"We were talking
About the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves
Behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth
Then it's far too late
When they pass away"

Oh that is such a good song you chose!! Those are some very powerful lyrics.

I want this song played after I'm gone from this earth. I know I'm young, but hey...whenever I hear this song I think...yep..that's the song for after I pass...I want everyone to hear it and listen real hard.

Thanks for sharing that one, good ole Harrison delivered well with this one

Peace and love

Because I used to hum it when I was eight years old and didn't know what a Beatle was.

...yep..that's the song for after I pass...

I went to a friends funeral and at the cemetery, mourners were invited to release balloons. All the while two of our best friends were sitting nearby playing this song;

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise"

It was surreal, hearing live music in a graveyard, It was the only funeral where I cried. But I was laughing at the same time, watching the balloons.

Hard to pick one. I was stuck between this and Nowhere Man. Grew up listening to them. Probably have spent about $5000 collecting their original vinyl albums. I love em!!!

Can't say it's a favorite about any. But I like it when bands go off beat.

My Favourite Beatles song of all time is 'This Boy', from when the four lads were young and beautiful in their own unique way......

It's hard to pick a favorite!

I just love the entire song, melody, lyrics, base.
Maybe not the most upbeat song,
but the movie was good
too.
