This has mostly been inspired by watching and re-watching the amazing Transatlantic Sessions, which is probably the greatest series of recorded music ever put to film.... well, maybe.
Anyway... these are some of my favourites from the first couple of sessions and some other stuff too.

Whatever label you want to put on it.... great instrument based, traditional, meaningful, soulful and soul enriching music, this certainly is.

I am playing these in another tab at the moment.

Nice to hear Eddi Reader again.

Excellent stuff.

My favorite singer/songwriter is still John Denver. I think alot of his music will stay around for the ages, and most people all over the world have heard of him.

I see you have Emmy Lou Harris listed- John sang "Wild Montana Skies" with her some years ago.

Very cool thread.

The BBC does great music recording.

I only came back to the UK last year, so I hadn't heard of the Transatlanic Sessions before.

Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, I can't get enough of this

Your first video won't play as embedded, btw.

They do to be fair

And yes, I think the Original Session is the best... Volume 1

But all of them are great and all have world class musicians and singers....as they're often referred to... the greatest backporch shows ever

But this thread is for anything similar.... not juts these sessions, there are plenty of great examples of great music out there from all over.

( I personally uploaded this one a while ago because it's just one of the most amazing pieces of vocals I've ever heard)
