Mississippi Bureau of Investigation officials are looking into the death of State Rep. Jessica Upshaw, who was found at a residence in Simpson County on Sunday.

The 53-year-old Republican lawmaker died of a gunshot wound to the head, state Capitol sources said.

Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis confirmed that Upshaw was found at the home of former state Rep. Clint Rotenberry, 901 Mangum Drive in Mendenhall.

Wow, this is just breaking not much details yet on anything other than how and where she died.

Upshaw, who was single and lived in Diamonhead, had served in the Legislature, representing District 95, since 2004. She was chair of the Conservation and Natural Resources Committee.

Murder? Suicide? Odd that it was at a former Reps residence.

The article also stated that she was smart and could pick a bill apart. Nothing could get by her...It's looking like someone wanted to get something by her...

This seems strange.

A google "news" search shows absolutely nothing about Jessica Upshaw prior to her death. Clint Rotenberry supposedly runs a real estate business with the same address as the residence where Upshaw was found. The real estate business has no reviews online, no website, no facebook. Likewise there is no real news about him either.

I just find that strange because when I google other state reps. I find even tiny news articles describing this action or that action or whatever. Seems fishy.

I'm pretty sure that's what the cops are looking into as well.

Apparently this happened this morning. Hasn't hit network news yet. So far just the internet and local TV it seems. Condolences to her loved ones.
