God help us
Netanyahu again

I wonder where we would be if Rabin wasn't assassinated ?

This guy needs a kick in the [snip] as a wake up call.

Signifying what, exactly? I've read neither of those threads just yet.

33 is an important number in the secret scheme of things. everyone knows that. The significance remains to be seen I suppose. Timing is everything though, and this month seems to be full of secrets...

What IDF Draft, if I may ask? I understood military service to be 100% compulsory as it was in Israeli society? Rather common in that area of the world as I gather.

Indeed.. That's what I thought. Service in the Israeli military is compulsory. You'd mentioned a universal draft and it kinda threw me was all?

Not true

The ultra religious guys aren't forced to do national service.

It's the cause of a major rift in Israeli society.

Ahhh... So the reference is to removing the religious exemption? Well, that would be a big thing in Israel, wouldn't it?

If that's getting the issue correct, then thanks for the clarification. It's hard to know at a glance what is critical and what is trivial in other cultures sometimes, eh?

Bang on

Personally I would have hated to serve with ultra religious Jews, all those rules

I can however only speak for myself.

But I guess they would have their units, probably non combatant in admin, the shekem (army shop) etc.

It's kinda hard to win a fire fight when you have to pray in the middle of it.

But yeah they should do something in the form of national service.

Yeah 'cause shooting people is far more reasonable than praying.

A wise man once said

"If you want to destroy Israel, leave it alone,. It will destroy itself. "

Damn near happened just before Rabin was assassinated
