Why is it absurd for an American, specifically ex military American, to want a gun for self defense?

What you are saying is absurd.

We have the 2 nd amendment right to bear arms, he wasn't doing anything wrong except being a hypocrite.

And that itself isn't wrong nor newsworthy unless you're a Conservative.

..or someone trying to legislate away a Constitutional right. Political affiliations are irrelevant in this case.

I was referring to hypocrisy. And you're correct about this particular case. Had he been a Conservative Republican it would be virtually criminal.

No the majority does not. Just the liberal media and a handful and anti-gun groups.

Something about hunters and their right to have a shotgun?

Got it. You think crazy people should have open access to machine guns.

Oh I get it, you want to legislate away a right.
If you or others want it changed, then do it the correct way.

Machine guns have been illegal since 1934.

Another straw-man is thrown into the discussion. Machine guns? Really, Unless you are licensed to own a fully-automatic weapon, you cannot legally own a "machine gun". But then, you knew that, and are just trolling now because you may not have a real answer here.

Sad, really... Sorry.

Come on and just say it. You think mentally unstable people should be able to have weapons at their disposal.
What about ex-cons?

Whoa. You really need to go after the guys that banned it. How is it possible when it is a gun?
Edit to add: You mean there are restrictions on what kind of guns you can buy?

Keep the ridiculous remarks to yourself, if you are not capable of understanding what I said then don't comment.

Hypocrites always find a way to spin a story when they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

My statement had nothing to do with comparing the acts morally.

HE is NOT mentally unstable and already owns guns, so what point was he trying to prove again? Of course he was easily approved in a BC.

The only way his story would make sense was if he had a mentally unstable person with a criminal history go in a try to buy a gun and actually get one.

Whenever Breakdance Obama issues an executive order he doesn't want the media to follow, he does so on a Friday.

Why do you keep saying "Breakdance Obama"? What is this referencing?

So you are in favor of restricting gun sales to mentally unstable people?

I never once said I was against BC checks, I am against banning different types of guns.

A gun is a gun. The 2 nd amendment was about defense against the tyranny of a corrupt government and self defense. That means we have the right to own the same guns our taxpayer money supplies to the government.

Should be legal to own?

1934 was before both Heller and Miller.
