Explosive contents in a train derailment have created a Hazmat Level 3 situation in a Detroit neighborhood Monday. Evacuations include three
elementary schools. Nine train cars overturned just before 11 a.m. in a neighborhood in the area of Nevada, John R and the Interstate 75 service
drive, Local 4 reported. Senior Chief Roy Miller of the Detroit Fire Department said four of the cars contain methyl alcohol, but initially said there
were no reports of a leak.
Fire department officials later confirmed with Local 4 that there is a small leak in one car. Crews were waiting for equipment from Toledo, Ohio, to
contain the leak and set the cars upright. A portion of the train that was still on the track was reportedly removed from the scene.

Hazmat crews, along with the local fire department have begun examining the contents of the derailed cars, and made efforts to contain the leak. A
worst case scenario would be an explosion like the one in N. Korea; however, officials seem to have the situation under control at the moment.
