An interesting topic that I usually encourage around the table with friends is:

"You can choose 5 people from any era to have at a dinner party/BBQ, religious individuals included - whom would you choose".

Reasons for choice are not required, but feel free to divulge if you want.

These are my 5.............

1. Julius Caesar.
2. Winston Churchill.
3. Alexander The Great.
4. Socrates.
5. Leonardo Da Vinci.

LOL - I had Joan of Arc too but scrubbed her for Alexander.

I really like choice #5 - I'd be like "Why did you have to eat that bloody apple woman"?

Justin Beiber - So I could shoot him in the face

Lil Wayne - Why have you destroyed Rap music and then proceed to shoot him in the face

Kardishian family - Shoot them all in the face

David Cameron - Shoot him twice in the face

Jedward - Shoot them both 3 times in the face

To be honest I think if the above happened, it would be a pretty productive dinner

On a more serious note, I would love to have dinner with Jiddu Krishnamurti, the author of The Awakenign Of Intelligence. If you havent had the plesure of reading any of his books, I'd highly reccomened them

Would have to be an all-Philosopher line-up for me. This is by no means a "greatest people in history" list; it's more a "who would I love to talk about life and the nature of reality with the most" list.

Socrates
Plato
Aristotle
Nietzsche
Confucius

(I know the first two are believed to share very similar views but it would be cool to see if there was anything significant about Socrates that Plato failed to record in his writings.)

My choice of guests for the dinner party, in no particular order:

Nicola Tesla

Jimmy Hoffa

Pope John Paul I

JFK

Genghis Khan

It's a shame you limited the guest list to 5 people. If I could invite a few more I'd like to bring in:

Louis Farrakhan

Adolph Hitler

Mahatma Ghandi
