Did you know that the European Union just awarded itself the Nobel Peace prize? Surprised? Youre not the only one:

Greece shocked at EU peace prize amid economic 'war'

The central banksters and the debt based monetary system via the EU are destroying Europe one nation at a time. They also just helped to obliterate Libya but isnt bombing and mass killing the true essence of "peace"?

The EU has embarked on another mission of peace by subverting freedom of speech. Now Europeans will only be allowed to view the State spewed wartime propaganda with no opposing viewpoints.

European satellite provider cuts off Iranian TV

As a hero once said, "sanctions are an act of war".

Hey, how about London would stop blocking the financial transaction tax?

But noooo, better the Sun and the Guardian are wasting print-space and readers life-time on anti-EU-propaganda.

Isn't it intriguing that over the whole of Europe only in the UK the newspapers are reporting in this way about the Nobel prize?

EU award itself the nobel peace prize... Phahahahahaha

Apparently there is an inside joke within the EU that if the EU was an outside country trying to join the EU, they would decline them for being so undemocratic and unstable!! Irony?

As for this business with Iran.. I am still yet to see an ounce of proof that Iran has intentions to refine uranium to a level regarded as 'illegal' by the United Nations. Yes, they have a s**t load of the stuff but as long as they don't refine it past a certain limit, then internationally they are doing nothing wrong.

The only reason I could see Iran refining uranium to dangerous levels is if they were likely to be attacked by an outside force... oh wait... that is happening! Good job Israel, good job America, you have just made a harmless country who have a war on average once every 100 odd years (compared to Americas war every year and a half!) turn into a violent and dangerous state. Once again your pre-emtive bullcrap has possibly doomed us all and empowered the enemies of our once proud nations.... Bravo.

This whole business with Iran, the sanctions, the constant threats of war etc, has zero to do with their nuclear development. Don't forget, Nutty-Yahoo and others have been bleating on about the imminemt threat from Iran for over 2 decades now.

What it does concern is Iran being there in the first place, and defiant in the face of Israeli aspirations for control over the whole Middle East. Onew by one, all those states that would stand up to Israel are being destroyed over one cooked up pretext or another, and we are the ones paying for it.

The idea that Iran is a threat to "World Peace", as Nutty-Yahoo keeps repeating, is a joke - I don't see Iran going out and invading anyone over the last few decades, but America on the other hand, with it's Zionist bankers and dual citizen politicians and advisors sure does fit rhe bill.

I'm sure the Norwegian Nobel Committee was surprised too! The EU DID NOT AWARD ITSELF anything.

Nice try at spin though....

As for the subject at hand, the Iranian TV channels have, for many years, been flouting EU broadcasting rules and the EU has actually been really slow turning them off. The US has been pushing for it since 2005.

Exactly man! How can they call us 'paranoid' and 'nut-jobs' when the things they tell us are so ridiculously and clearly utter bollocks!

I hope one day more people will see their leaders as we do, puppets of rich unelected banksters who need war to create debt, since debt is the money maker!

They get rich from debt, whilst we work purely to pay off debt. Slavery, welcomed with open arms.

Where do I start......

1. The peace price was awarded by the Nobel Commitee not the EU.

2. The prize was awarded due to Europe having had no wars within its borders in over 70 years this is a direct consequence of the nations (regularily at war for several hundred years ) having to cooperate through the EU.
It has nothing to do with economics or consequences of massive tax evasion by the greeks (the germans might not be saints on this topic as the EMF would now concede but the greeks forget to inform non greeks that clamping down on tax evasion would have mitigated a vast amount of their financial problems)

3. Euroskeptics are up in arms about something positive about the EU.......well what a freaking surprise.....NOT

4. The sanctions (irrespective of the reasons why or if you agree with them or not) are part of the economic sanctions against Iran by depriving them of several TV channels to affect Iranian business. Unfortunately due to the way satellites work (DUH!) you cannot selectively switch off which area receives which channels. Its all or nothing. As such the switch off has nothing to do with depriving non iranians of iranian TV ie your bleat about freedom of speech. It's an unfortunate consequence of the technology being used.

5. You can still find out about Iran and its TV within Europe just not via a satellite whose broadcasts transmit over Iran. So freedom of speech has NOT been curtailed.

All in all a contrived OP title from skewed interpretation of events.

FYI : I don't think the EU should have been awarded a Nobel. They should be reserved for individuals or small groups of people.

wether or not these sanctions regarding Irans broadcasting license is overstated or not, it still remains a fact that sanctions are indeed an act of war, which by definition means we in the west have drawn first blood in this conflict.

Like Ron Paul says, the elite or the rogue western paid off governments are so blatant in their actions by now that no veil is left to shroud them.
It is clear as day that what these people are doing in the name of the people... us... is so fundamentally wrong and in-human that it is amazing we have not lynched the lot of them yet.
They are not fitting as heads of state, nor as representatives to the one race that we humans are. And by this I mean ALL of them....

I can no longer see one country (except maybe Norway) which aren't in the business of ruining the world, the people and the animals who inhabit it.

As such the freedom of speech is no longer existent... it no longer holds any merit or affect. Why? Because a lot of you still don't care that those who choose to try and protect and serve you aren't really doing what they are supposed to do. Their endless meetings, travels around the world, eating and drinking by the tax payers money and.... retiring on the tax payers' money. None of this seems to bother you.... you don''t seem to care that your friends and family is about to be send across the world to fight a war that isn't theirs... or yours.
You continue to believe the lie that is that someone in a small village across the globe wants to hurt you and therefore you have to ruin their country???

No wonder the world is turning to crap. You stopped believing in a better world for you and your kids and you started believing in people who are put in their places of influence by companies whose interests they serve before yours.

Ok, but it's not to say EU countries haven't gone to war elsewhere? America hasn't had a civil war for well over 100 years but they definitely shoudn't get a peace prize!

I think some people may disagree.. Extra sanction are added regularly, check any news site.

1 - The topic is "European Union clamps down on freedom of speech (again), bans Iranian TV.", lets stick to it.
2 - About the topic: Well, IMHO, this is a try to blind people from what happens inside Iran, it means the people would only have the info they're fed through MSM and will have to believe it because there is no "opposite" POV. Kinda like the Nazis did, if you know what I mean...
