Hey, I just Found Out Something About The Beezer

The Beezer was a British comic which first started in 1956. Originally A3 size, which was much larger than its stablemates (The Beano and The Dandy were both from the same publisher), the comic ended up going A4 size in 1981. The comic merged with two comics Plug * and Cracker in the 1970s and eventually merged with The Topper in 1990 to form The Beezer and Topper this combination of the two comics finally ended in 1993; however, the Beezer book (annual bumper editions) continued until the 2003 edition and the Beezer holiday special until 2002. The comic's most popular creations inlcude "The Numskulls", "Colonel Blink", "Baby Crockett", "The Badd Lads", "Ginger", "Pop, Dick and Harry" and "The Banana Bunch".

I was a Beezer reader myself, stored old copies for several years until my mother got paranoid about "spontaneous combustion".. I've still got one of the old annuals.
From memory, I can tell you that;
The Numskulls were little men occupying a character's head and making it work. E.g there was "Brainy" at the top of the skull, someone at the eye-socket with a telescope, and two more in the mouth shovelling food down with spades.
Colonel Blink was a "short-sighted gink", retired from the British army in India, punctuating his conversation with "Arf!", always looking at things and mistaking them for something else.
"Pop, Dick and Harry" were a father and two sons.
The Badd lads were a trio of bungling criminals.
Your extract doesn't mention the two feuding hill-billy families, the Hillies and the Billies.
Also my favourite character of all, the pint-sized pirate captain, Cap'n Hand (I've only just noticed the pun in that name), who was always having trouble with his crew. Every week they would plot some way of getting rid of him ("He's got to go!"), and every week he would frustrate them.
His weekly slogan, which I've never had the chance of using myself, was "I'm cap'n of this ship, ye dogs, and don't ye forget it!
