FBI: Border Patrol Agent Killed in Line of Duty

Nicholas Ivie, a Border Patrol agent, was shot to death Tuesday near the U.S.-Mexico line. Ivie and a colleague were on patrol in the desert about 100 miles from Tucson, when shooting broke out shortly before 2 a.m., the Border Patrol said. (Oct. 2)

Now a lot of people are going to start in with the Fast & Furious scandal only cared about by FOX News and it's fanbase.

However, the reality is this. Drug Cartels are dangerous, and they did in fact have guns prior to the Fast & Furious scandal. (REALLY THEY DID, it's not like they were just hitting each other with rocks before Fast & Furious) These people were well armed before that ever took place.

However, it's always a sad day when one of our brave law enforcement persons lay down their lives to protect this nation.

When commenting, remember, this was someone's son, this may have been someone's husband, this man will be missed by people.

ok..as an outsider...iv noticed a sharp rise in these stories in the past few years.

what i cant understand...watching how other states in the world operate...why cant the army secure the border.

its obvious that they need to put on a show of strength for a few months....just so the border gaurds have a detterent other than themselves.

why cant you send...soldiers doing national service or boot camp to go and train there....go and park a line of tanks for three months....fly a copter twice a week for three months

it cant be that hard to deter criminals and illegal immigrants.....that said...keep the official channels tempting for these people and not send them underground with harsh rhetoric

We tend to like our military blowing large holes in small countries far away from America.

Honestly, I don't know. I really believe they don't really try and secure the boarder, it would cost too much money on both ends to do that. The government would lose tons of money from all the fines from the petty peddlers they bust and confiscations among other things.
